The father of shot American congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords has said that her political stance made her many enemies.
Miss Giffords, a Democrat congresswoman, was shot in the head during a public meeting in Tucson, Arizona.
A lone gunman, described by witnesses as being a white man in his late teens or early twenties, fired into a crowd gathered for a "Congress in your Corner" event outside a supermarket.
Her father Spencer Giffords, 75, wept when asked if his 40-year-old daughter had any enemies.
"Yeah," he told The New York Post. "The whole tea party."
Miss Giffords had been named in March as a political campaign target for conservatives in Novembers elections by former Alaska governor Sarah Palin for her strong support for the health reforms of President Barack Obama.....

It turns out that Daily Kos had her in their "crosshairs" for not being far enough left. Hmmmmm...

Sad that this old man, in his pain, would fall for the communist media lies. His daughter was shot by a left wing nut.
As for enemies, he’s right. The Tea Party is her enemy. Her POLITICAL enemy. All dems are my enemies. But that doesn’t mean I’ll go on a shooting spree.
What these people refuse to understand is it is the extremists in their own party who should be feared. And that includes conservatives, too. I promise you Bush was in more danger of being shot by a far right winger than he was by a liberal. And the same goes for Obama. The physical threat to him is from the far left.

Are we SURE he’s a lefty? We need to be right on this.

It’s disgusting that they start flaming before seeing the facts. Interesting profile is emerging on this punk. Can’t wait for information on his upbringing but at this point it sounds like he is nothing but a snot nosed wanna-be anarchist. Little bastard

Keep your heads, FRiends. The left and lamestream media pin ALL gun-related crimes on “right-wingers” and constitutionalists.
DO NOT PLAY THAT GAME.
This guy was CLEARLY not of a mind to be a lefty OR a righty. He was just plain nuts; probably paranoid-delusional.
Mens Rea.
The sad part is that he’ll almost certainly get off on insanity - with much of the evidence posted in the last few weeks.

I was going to say the same thing. Look I cannot say anything bad about this woman's father. He is under extreme stress with his daughter clinging to life. I'm cutting him some slack. But because the tea party is on opposite side politically, it doesn't mean they are violent types. Tea Party members are the LEAST likely to do something like this. And the early reports are that the shooter is a left-wing loon. We have so much more to fear from those on the left than on the right. There are VERY few dangerous right wing extremists out there. That's not the perception those in the media have created, but that's the fact.

I agree we need to get things right. Fox News had I don’t know how many people dead and then had to retract. I think, I repeat, THINK, the guy was just a disturbed person. Not left or right, just a person in need of help.

Ever since JFK was assassinated (by Lee Harvey Oswald, an avowed communist) the left has successfully lied to the American people and claimed that ‘right-wingers’ are crazed assassins and will kill you if you disagree with liberal political positions. That is outrageous nonsense without a shred of evidence to back up the vile assertion but yet, here we go again, with Sarah Palin, the Tea Party and basically, all who hold conservative political views or even oppose ObamaCare being blamed for the shooting rampage that left the Arizona Representative shot in the head.....by a dopey young guy that probably viewed the ‘moderate’ Democrat as too ‘conservative’. The MSM will pile on and with the Democrats, cynically attempt to spin this terrible act of violence as a the fault of ‘the right-wing’, which is demonstrably false. I can only hope that the American people are now savvy enough to see this palpable lie for what it is: rank political opportunism of the most vicious and deceitful kind - and be repelled by it, as all people should be.

Had to switch off FNC. They keep making reference to vandalization of her office following her vote for Obamacare, as if there is a connection between this shooting and those against Obamacare. They make me sick!

"Yeah," he told The New York Post. "The whole tea party."
I'll cut him some slack because he is obviously grief stricken ... but ... at some point he is going to have to be clued in that "Mein Kampf" and "The Communist Manifesto" are not generally considered favorite reading among the Tea Party crowd. We are more of a "Constitution" and "Federalist Papers" crowd.
