Tea Party Hero and House Budget Committee Chairman
Paul Ryan to release Reaganesque plan tomorrow...
Although this year's budget battle remains deadlocked with obstinate libs who didn't get the message last November -or are keen to see the Cloward-Piven strategy through to full fruition- it's sure heartening to see House Republicans -after some squishyness in the 2011 stalemate- not allowing an unwanted status quo to be forced upon us.
The author of the bill -fiscal hawk Rep Paul Ryan (R-Wi)- will be presenting a comprehensive long-term plan for tackling the insane level of spending in this country on Tuesday... one that's also likely to buy the GOP some political capital for any immediate deal-making required to avoid a government shutdown. Appearing on Fox News Sunday, Ryan said it includes serious, pro-growth tax reform to help swell federal coffers along with the resurgent US economy this would bring.
But I'm real happy to report that the GOP actually appears serious about fulfilling the campaign promises of last year... as Mr Ryan's proposal goes some ways beyond what was recommended by the Obama's (specious) deficit commission:
____________________________________________________________
Asked about the scale of his budget's spending reductions, Ryan said they would exceed $4 trillion. "We're looking at more than that right now," Ryan said on Fox News Sunday. "We're fine-tuning our numbers with the CBO literally today, over the weekend. But we're going to be cutting a lot more than that."
As The Hill reported last week, Ryan said his plan tackles the kind of spending cuts which are at the center of the current-year debate as well as larger systemic cuts.
"We intend to not only cut discretionary spending and put caps on spending, you have to address the drivers of our debt," Ryan said. "We need to engage with the American people on a fact-based budget, on stopping politicians from making empty promises to people and talk to the country about what is necessary to fix these problems."
Of the three major entitlement programs, Ryan's budget will seek to make major changes to Medicare and Medicaid.
"Medicare itself, literally, crowds out all other government spending at the end of the day," Ryan said. "We can't sustain that. We have got to get Medicare solvent." Ryan said that his plan was not a voucher program, but a "premium support system"...
On Medicaid, Ryan's budget aims to reform the way the program is funded. "We propose block grants to the states," Ryan said, but would not offer specific numbers. "We've had so much testimony from so many different governors saying give us the freedom to customize our Medicaid programs, to tailor for our unique populations in our states. We want to get governors freedom to do that."
____________________________________________________________
Rather than helping to deal with the short-term 2011 budget mess San Fran Nan left, the resulting impasse has been an opportunity for political scheming by the Left: Democratic leadership thinks they can make the GOP look bad by forcing a shutdown, while painting Republicans as "extreme" at every turn.
But it's not working, and the Republicans may have now found a way to avoid being defined by the battle over this year's budget... one that might just pull us back from the edge of the abyss:
Meanwhile, Dingy Harry's glaringly fraudulent budget numbers
went wholly unchallenged by the Obammunist bootlicks on

How much money will be going to the NEA and Planned Parenthood under the new plan? How much money will be going to Acorn? How much money will be sent overseas to foreign governments by USAID?
Until the answer is anything besides “zero”, then Medicare cuts should be off the table.

Nothing is off the table... that is the entitlement attitude that led to our current stand on the edge of the abyss. America is about to fail... everything is fair game.

Any budget cuts that do not include eliminating all federal agencies not in compliance with any of the enumerated powers granted to Congress in Article 1 Section 8 of the Constitution are nothing more than smoke and mirrors and will not solve the budget deficit.
There are no enumerated powers to regulate the environment, communications, education, health, food, drugs, alcohol, tobacco, firearms or agriculture. Consequently the EPA, FCC, Department of Education, DHHS, FDA, BATFE and the Department of Agriculture are all Unconstitutional as the above powers are reserved to the states or to the people per the 10th Amendment.
Eliminating these Unconstitutional agencies, along with any others not listed in violation of Article 1 Section 8, will restore the limited government principles the founding fathers instilled in the Constitution and thereby drastically reduce federal spending and balance the budget.

I think I’d agree with that, but Ryan is not cutting Medicare nor MedicAid... he’s only slowing the rate of growth, that’s right they STILL will be going up in $ amount for the whole decade.
And honestly, I can’t wait to see the garbage he’s slashing out... the libs are going to be in launch mode lol

The math is unquestionable, imho- and most economist agree, we are headed for a fall... and sooner rather than later
Ryan one of the few that really GETS IT- sure do wish him well in his political career, where ever it takes him- wish I had a congressman like that

Cut half the departments in D.C. would be a good start.

They are just rearranging deck chairs and keeping the scam going. Phooey! Might as well just let the Democrats stay in until a faster meltdown occurs. Our government reminds me of Japans Nuke Reactor. Out of control and no way to fix it.

Oh, I agree that Medicare will have to be cut, but it’s rather unethical to force cuts in the health care of citizens while the government is still squandering taxpayer money on special interest groups like Planned Parenthood, La Raza, and Acorn as well as shipping it overseas.

Paul Ryan’s plan is absolutely needed to save this country.
It is our only hope for the future.
Democrats will undoubtedly try to demogogue this to death.
I hope the American populace and electorate is too smart to fall for the vicious and outrageous rhetoric that is sure to come from the democrats.
Ryan’s plan makes sense and I hope that many fiscal conservatives and other republicans embrace it and when they return home at the next break that they explain it in simple terms to their constituents and in a way that has logic and common sense behind it.

The rest of the GOP had best get behind and support Paul Ryan!
To those that fail to do so, take this as notice that we are prepared to “primary” you.

Not that “bold” a move. If I’m right, it appears the cuts to spending will be roughly $400 Billion annually for 10 years which leaves us still borrowing almost a trillion a year going forward adding another $10 TRILLION to the debt during that same period.
Like I said, not too bold.

I am not optimistic...
Just look @ Wisconsin tomorrow it is a "Bob Dole Moment".
Does anyone remember the Contract for America and how it died after Bob Dole came up one vote short in the Senate for a Balanced Budget? The metaphorical victory tomorrow maybe in Wisconsin if the State Supreme Court Seat goes to the Pro-Union Justice. It is linked to this Federal Debate, it is a battle on many fronts, if we loose in WI it will be a huge blow just like Dole's loss.
The fact of the matter is, we have almost a majority of the populous that is devoid of any knowledge of the Federal and State Constitution's, the Accounting Equation, and have an entitlement /spoiled child mentality to back it up.
I fear Ryan will end up like Kasich, Perry, and J.C. Watts, who pretty much gave up because it was hopeless....

What about Employment Prevention Agency??

4 trillion over 10 years, how about 4 trillion a year. Cutting half the departments would seriously be a good step in the right direction.
To: Reaganite Republican
So that means $400 billion/year. The Deficit is $1.6 trillion. Seems we still have an existential problem.
