MSNBC Ed Schultz:”Bush cut taxes for the rich in 2000 and everything went bad”(April 19+20,2011)
MSNBC The Ed Show April,19+20, 2011 | April 22, 20100 | sickoflibs

This week Ed Schultz has been giving a interesting view of history of the Bush Clinton years. According to Ed things were just rosy in 1999 under Clinton; and then in 2000 GWBush took over he cut taxes THAT YEAR and revenue took a dive (immediately) and the jobs fled overseas.

This is a great vindication story if you are a liberal (progressive) watching MSNBC, except there is big a problem. The much derided ‘Tax cuts on the wealthy” didn’t go into effect until 2003 after the ‘Jobs and Growth Tax Relief Reconciliation Act of 2003’ was passed. Unfortunately that doesn’t support Ed’s narrative’s timeline showing the economy diving in 2000 because of the Bush tax cuts 'on the rich'.

More idiotic, to support this fairytale Ed tells his viewers that Bush was president and cut taxes in 2000. The presidential election was in November 2000. Don’t they remember their Gore Florida recounts in late 2000? Don’t they remember the SCOTUS decision Bush v. Gore (December 2000)? Don’t his liberal viewers even remember themselves claiming Bush was ‘Selected not elected’ in 2000? Then how can they swallow a story that is based on GWBush having to be president and cut taxes in 2000?

Ed Schultz:

Well, here comes President Bush. President Bush comes in here in the year 2000 and look at this. He says, you know what? …….. In 2000, here come the tax cuts. Here come the tax cuts right here. And what do we have right after 9/11 and right after the tax cuts? We have a dip in revenue—….. So, then, we keep on going through the Bush years and the revenue starts to come back a little bit but the spending just keeps going…

and Ed Schultz again:

Take a look at this chart. Because this is where America is right now and this is where we have been, our road map that we have followed for the last 10 years. Let‘s go back to 1999(the Clinton good years).
Let‘s follow the line here.
Well, in 1999, it was Bill Clinton. Then, of course, in 2000(under no good Bush), here we go with the red line. We‘re starting to push jobs overseas to other emerging markets.
And then, of course, after the Bush tax cuts went in. Where did the revenue go? Where did the job creation go? The job creation went down, after all these big tax cuts were put into effect.
And the jobs went overseas.

They’re too busy making up lies to keep the facts straight.

Interesting observations. One can only hope the hordes that put him in office will stay home the next time around.

The problem with Ed, a lot of the media, and most of the Politicians is that none of them understand Econ 101 and don’t want to.

I can't say anything about Ed Schultz.
As it's not nice to make fun of the mentally handicapped.

*** progressive Ohaha is a huge bust-----and all of Ohaha's 2008 coalitions are falling by the wayside. ***

Yep. All he's got in his pocket are the Black Voting Bloc and the Union thugs (not all union members are moonbat leftist thugs) and the hardcore Commies. And that Oprah feud with the 1st Wookie will kill Barry with the 'wymen vote' [/s].

So Barry better start checking out Moving Van pricing and getting Bids pretty soon.

“Clinton and HUD secretary Andrew Cuomo helped create the current crisis by lowering lending standards at Fannie Mae/Freddie “

Here Bush in a speech, pushing home loans for totally unqualified minorities.

if one were to look back at the 90’s, one would see the enviroweenies were falling all over themselves filing ‘environmental’ lawsuits against American businesses. And, with an appetizer of national weapons secrets served up to China by Clinton, the push was on by Share-the-Wealthers and starry-eyed Unionists to export our industries and factories to the poor ‘underdeveloped China’. All of this was done consequences be damned, knowing they would be handing over the Presidency and a wobbling economy (and empty social security accounts) after Clinton’s second term anyway so who cared?.

Right. Bush inherited this program, nurtured it and took credit for it often.

” Even Oprah won’t endorse him for fear that will decimate her cable network viewership. It’s been said her 2008 endorsement and fund raising for him ended her 25-year talk show reign. “

Sad.....what are all those millions of fat dumb welfare recipients going to watch in the afternoon?

Me? I’m gonna short Frito-Lay, and Celeste frozen pizza ;-)

It could become a crisis in their lives. Increasing their welfare checks might help them through it.
