Poll Shows Palin Surge in GOP Primaries
Pundit Press ^ | 5/5/2011 | Thomas Ferdousi

In the last several months there has not been a solid frontrunner in Republican polls for the 2012 nomination. While Mike Huckabee and Mitt Romney have been near the top, neither has been dominant.

Donald Trump was able to surge last month, although where his polls go now is unclear. With much of the attention reverting away from him, he may see a dip in his vote share.

And it appears that may have already happened-- and Sarah Palin has picked up the slack. Palin has reduced her profile over the last several months, cutting back on public speaking events. Many supporters appeared to move towards Minnesota Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann.

Now, in the newest Quinnipiac poll, it appears that the former Alaska Governor has received a new boost in support.

National Republicans:

Romney: 18% Palin: 15% Huckabee: 15% Trump: 12%

President of what? The Jersey Shore? She’s a reality TV celebrity, no different than Trump except she has better hair.

Maybe she isn’t pretending to be Margaret Thatcher. And if you saw the episode,,, you saw Sarah being a strong admirable woman, trying to show the ubiquitious modern Ameritwit female how to show a little backbone.

But maybe you’re right. Sarah should have taken that buffoon Romney out there instead. That woulda been good for a few laughs to watch her show up his metrosexual butt out there.

This is actually a drop of 4 points for Palin from the previous poll by the same outfit. As bad as it is to use polls as predictors this far out, it is even worse to use results from two different pollsters to try to claim a trend. And anyone touting this poll should also have to acknowledge the results showing that 58% of Americans would never vote for Palin under any circumstances.

So who would be the REAL deal? Romney the investment bankering insider, the draft dodger who flip flops on abortion, permanently bans assault rifles, and thinks the government has a right to force you to buy healthcare?

“She’s a reality TV celebrity”

As opposed to Reagan, who wasn’t?? Please. You’re grasping for a reason to hate her.

Only a moron would say something like that. She was the Vice Presidential nominee when no one knew her, besides being a successful Governor and Mayor. Her success has nothing to do with any television shows.

"As opposed to Reagan, who wasn’t?? Please."

Sure, Reagan was an actor. Of course, he didn't work as an actor for roughly 15-years before he became president. And, what did he do in those intervening 15-years? Well (as he would say), he only ran the most populated state in the union, a state that at the time was the 4th largest economy on the planet.

Palin, OTOH, ran a state that would be California's 5th most populous city. Reagan to Palin is apples to oranges. There is no comparison, whatsoever. One had gravitas by the truckload, one doesn't have it by the thimble.

Can you be called a "successful governor" when you quit halfway through your first term? I don't know how many people are going to find that a compelling argument, but I'm guessing it won't be enough to win a general election.

Back at it again, I see.

You're going to get banned, you know. According to Jim Roblinson, "FreeRepublic is Palin Country," and it's only a matter of time before your irrational hatred makes you cross the line. Personally, I can't wait.

You sure can. When you accomplish more than most Governors do in less time, you are successful. Highly successful. When you leave your state with a huge surplus of money,in the billions, while 48 others are in the red and begging for Federal stimulus money, you are successful.Just on this issue alone anyone would admit her administration was highly successful. All anyone has to do is take a look at her long list of accomplishments as Governor to see just how successful she was.

I’d put her accomplishments as Governor up against any of the pretenders running against her.

Have bumped Sarah up from my “NEVER GOING TO RUN ACTUALLY” category to “FOREVER THINKING ABOUT IT” category, to now “FLIRT, FLIRT, FLIRT” category. If the visit to Israel and the Star of David necklace pays off for her among the religious and in the Jewish cash category, that’s a bump, and if the recent purchase of a consultant for matters of Foreign Policy and her recent FP speech attracts anyone outside of that audience, that would be a bump.

But if she can’t get her negatives down beyond her somewhat shrinking Republican base it’s a big sweat for nothing. Newt in a debate will shrink the field in knowledge, reason, political experience and Independents will be all ears. You know, the ones who will elect the next prez.

"President of your Mama."

This is what passes for intellectual discourse in the mind of a Palin sycophant. Pathetic, but not unexpected.
