The meats were like a bad joke gone bad. $7-10 for a small package of chicken breasts. I got enough food for a week and it was $107. The cashier lady told me some woman (when she noticed) milk at $4 a gallon asked if there was s milk shortage. Are people this stupid?
I am truly afraid for this country in so many ways and as the cashier lady said she told the ditz lady it will get far worse before it gets better. And the cashier was in her 20's and she figured this out- so there is some hope this age group knows to vote out Impeach Obama NOW!
We don’t buy a lot of powered milk. My wife uses it in her home made yogurt. Thanks for the tip!

We have one here too. It is pretty large and has been owned by a father/son combination for many years. Big inventory, good sales, competitive with the prices in the nearest large city.
We live in the middle of the "Big Nothing" in the Rolling Plains here in TX. We have great neighbors and the community has many families who have lived here for generations. My family was here before a town. They moved here in the mid 1880's.
Don’t have nor ever heard of Aldi’s.
I picked some Nido up recently since I’m so far from a grocery store. It was highly recommended on another forum for it’s taste. Supposedly it’s better if you mix it up the night before you use it. Some people have reported liking it better than regular milk.

I got bacon at Costco in the 4-lb pack for about $2.89 /lb.
Milk -- Rainbow had a special at $1.69 / gallon with coupon; Kwik-Trip has milk in half gallon bags for $1.19 or $1.29 -- but last fall they were as low as $0.89.
The Cub Foods in Plymouth had a manager's special on 93% lean ground beef for $2.49 /lb in 1-lb. chubs (it is normally $4.39 or $4.69) so I bought 16 lbs and froze all but 3 lbs.
Shop around; use coupons; match coupons to store specials. Check out the sites http://www.couponmom.com/printable-coupons-242 and http://www.livefabuless.com/ (on the latter site scroll down the right-of-center frame headed by "Coupon matchups" and click on a store to find details on store-by-store specials which can be matched to recent and current manufacturer's coupons.
Rainbow will double manufacturers' coupons (up to $1 face value unless prohibited on the coupon) -- up to five coupons on Wednesdays year-round and up to ten coupons on Saturdays through June 11.
I had a shopping trip a couple of weeks ago at Rainbow where I bought ~ $600 worth of food and goodies and paid about $320.

jalapenos freeze nicely also if you are into them. I like to slow roast them in the oven then let hem cool and into a freezer bag. Thaw and chop. Nice stuff.

I have a nice assortment of young plants in the greenhouse now, but need to get more and get the seeds I need.
We had a big garden on the farm when I was a kid and the folks still have one. This will be my first veggie garden here on my small farm. Obama put the hurt on me so bad, I’m growin’ my own food! Can’t wait until that guy is out of The White House. I’ll keep the garden though, even after he’s history.

We have an Aldi over near where I go to the library. If their milk is that much less than Walmart, I should take my cash over there and buy theirs. Even with the price of gas, I’d come out ahead.

My Grandpa used to own one of those typical “Little House On The Prairie-type” stores....and when cars came around, he got a gas pump. SOMEWHERE here, I have his homemade sign...it was (I think) 3 cents a gallon. Something like that...
Here in Eastern Wa state the Safeway brand is 2.39 if you buy two, but I have to get the lactose-free milk for about 4.39. However, I am thankful there is such a thing.
Reality is that there are already foreclosed homes on my street and I fear for the worst. I remember the day when a brand new home was the total price of a down payment for a car nowadays. What will banks do when more and more lose jobs. I know a friend that is 9 months behind on his mortgage and he moved out just now. The bank came by once and took pictures or some such thing. The house SITS.
The property tax is what will boot people out.Will Obama not be happy until people are homeless? Can’t even live in there cars?
Sounds like Alaska prices from a few years ago. We have been paying prices like these for years.
I tripled the size of my garden this year, and yet I still do not think it is enough to offset the prices I am seeing. Any suggestions?
