Jackie Onassis believed that Lyndon B Johnson and a cabal of Texas tycoons were involved in the assassination of her husband John F Kennedy, ‘explosive’ recordings are set to reveal. The secret tapes will show that the former first lady felt that her husband’s successor was at the heart of the plot to murder him.
She became convinced that the then vice president, along with businessmen in the South, had orchestrated the Dallas shooting, with gunman Lee Harvey Oswald – long claimed to have been a lone assassin – merely part of a much larger conspiracy.
Texas-born Mr Johnson, who served as the state’s governor and senator, completed Mr Kennedy’s term and went on to be elected president in his own right. The tapes were recorded with leading historian Arthur Schlesinger Jnr within months of the assassination on November 22, 1963, and had been sealed in a vault at the Kennedy Library in Boston.
The then Mrs Kennedy, who went on to marry Greek shipping tycoon Aristotle Onassis, had ordered that they should not be released until 50 years after her death, with some reports suggesting she feared that her revelations might make her family targets for revenge...

After listening to all the arguments for the last 48 years, I’ve concluded that there were many people who wanted JFK dead (including LBJ) and several plots in the works to kill him, but Oswald was just the “quickest on the draw”.
I always marveled at LBJ’s acting ability to be able to feign sorrow while taking the Oath of Office. You just KNOW that on the inside he was doing the Snoopy happy dance.
Lady Bird was oiling up the chainsaw to reduce the (outdoor) advertizing competition to her broadcast businesses.

It’s interesting that the Great Society initiative came just before the ‘67 riots that left a number of ‘rat cities in permanent decline.
I remember reading something or seeing something on TV in which Johnson makes a phone call to Bobby Kennedy, who just lost his brother in a violent shooting, and said, “This is the President” within a day of the shooting. Bobby was taken aback, to say the least. I thought this was probably done deliberately as I read reports that Johnson hated Bobby Kennedy. He may have had a hand in having him killed as well.
It was offered to him as a basic courtesy... they never believed he would give up the Majority Leader position for the mostly powerless VP slot. They expected LBJ would turn it down and their preference of Missouri Senator Stuart Symington would be it.

If you’ve fired a bolt action rifle at a moving target, you’d understand the likelyhood of a single gunman making 3 hits is remote, even if you expand the shooting timeline to 10 seconds.

Google "Lee Harvey Oswald wife beater" and you will come away with ample sources of it. After his death, Oswalds life was gone though like none other. Countless interviews with former neighbors and family shows Oswald to be a bully, a wife beater as well as a loving father. One may disagree as to Oswald being the lone gunman, but there is no disagreement that he used Marina as a punching bag. There is evidence that suggests that Oswald was emotionally unbalanced and acted against JFK at least partly because of this factor. Oswald was diagnosed with ""personality pattern disturbance with schizoid features and passive - aggressive tendencies" at the age of thirteen. The fact that Oswald physically and verbally abused his wife Marina adds to this picture of instability.
There does appear in the research that Oswald may have had "handlers", but no one ever seriously thought Marina was one.
Now I've done enough of the the work for you. If you want to know more about Lee Harvey Oswald, you'll need to get off your butt and get to work.

I’ve always wondered about Nixon’s comments on the Watergate tapes. He mentions something about “...that whole Cuban thing...” And then the tape goes dead for 7 and 1/2 minutes.
Nixon protected the U.S. (and LBJ) when he fought to keep the Pentagon papers secret. I’ve always wondered if the “Cuban thing” was a reference to The Bay of Pigs, the assasination, or something else.
I forget the name of the guy that is believed by many to be one of the bums, and also a “plumber”. Hunt?

TV producer Donald Bellisario (NCIS, JAG, Magnum PI) served in the Marines with Lee Harvey Oswald.
I always thought it was probably Castro, and that was why there were so many unanswered questions ie the government didn't want to go head to head with the Russians again.
I do remember however, that a lot of people back then thought that LBJ was behind it.

He was a Mafia Lieutenant, a llow life scumbag whose job was to take care of details like planting the bullet on a stretcher at Parkland Hospital, keep Oswald in line.BEFORE the assassination etc.
When things went very wrong as Oswald was NOT killed in the theatre, he had to kill Oswald to silence him as the Mafia would hold Ruby responsible for the failure.
The Mafia wanted the Kennedys as much as LBJ and Hoover did.
