Homeland Security on Lookout for “Militia Extremists” (Satire)
Semi-News/Semi-Satire ^ | 10 Feb 2012 | John Semmens

Posted on 02/14/2012 10:31:20 AM PST by John Semmens

A recently issued lexicon from the Department of Homeland Security warns law enforcement personnel to be on the lookout for what it calls “militia extremists.”

Militia extremists were described as “persons who exhibit an undue suspicion of government as manifested in statements that evince an inordinate reverence for the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, especially provisions protecting the rights to freedom of speech, bearing arms, and bars to so-called unreasonable search.”

Law enforcement officers were advised to “keep such persons under close surveillance” and to “not hesitate to act if they perceive a threat. Let’s not forget that the worst threats to our government may come from within.”

From what friends in law enforcement tell me, every person who gets arrested suddenly becomes a fan of those parts of the constitution.

You have nailed it. What you state is the basis for describing these people as usurpers of power. They are making up their own rules; ignoring the compact they were sworn to defend; betraying their oaths, and inflicting a new tyranny on those they were supposed to serve.

This is not a Right/Left issue; it goes to honor, decency, duty & respect. There is no conceivable basis on which such a attack on our own people & their most basic rights, can be justified. None!

I don’t see the purpose of John Semmens’ “semi-news/semi-satire” at all. It’s not news, and it’s not satire. It does not enlighten, and essentially ends up spreading misinformation.

A waste of time, if you ask me. I almost never read it anymore, though I do sometimes click on these posts to see the comments and note how many people get sucked in.

Agree....this semi-satire is boring and unimaginative, actually. It is intentionally designed to get a rise out of Freepers who don't know his schtick. It is a waste of time.

I’d love to see the moderator’s ban Semmens’ “semi-news/semi-satire” articles.

Folks, this is Satire!

No it's not. It's just stupid, self-indulgent nonsense and contributes nothing to the advancement of our cause, except to create an opportunity for conservatives to look stupid if they happen spread the misinformation in these articles.

He won’t get banned...he follows the rules. You just have to always be sure to read the complete title and his “Semi-news/Semi-Satire” disclaimer....it is still childish, nonetheless in my opinion.

Completely agree. We are about business here about how to keep Mitt Romney from getting the GOP nomination. This crap only diverts our attention.

Almost got me this time! It’s hard to do satire these days, because real life keeps catching up - what was absurd yesterday is politically correct tomorrow! John, thanks for the post.

Well, you may be right about him not getting banned. Nevertheless, I hit the "abuse" button and asked the moderators to ban these articles anyway.

I’m not convinced that a “semi-satire” on this topic is even possible.

Thank you for the (satire) label. My blood pressure had already gone up a couple points by the time I got to the end of the title.

However, as far as local LEOs go...they is us. I doubt they'll all see this as a directive they'll follow. I'd be willing to bet it will garner a goodly number of guffaws, chortles and snorts among that cadre.

Don't have to dig too deep in history to come upon similar comments in the old Soviet Union, Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy.

Somehow it seems there is a correlation between the bravado of "it can't happen here" and it happening first to those who uttered those famous last words.
