Heres a bit of not too-far-fetched musing: What if the Party That Cant Pick A King, aka Republicans, still hasnt given any one candidate enough delegates to win the nomination by June 5?
Then California could pick the Republican nominee for president. All by itself.
Now, imagine that California Republicans make themselves king makers. What will that mean? ...

It may not be a bad thing, depending on how Republican the Californian Republicans are.
Is Calif an open primary? If so, you could see Democrats jumping in big time to determine the nominee.
Last poll:
Romney 31
Santorum 25
Paul 16
Gingrich 12
“It may not be a bad thing...”
It would be pretty bad. Last I saw, the polling was hugely in favor of Romney, but that was a while back. besides , the California Republican establishment is INCREDIBLY inept and way to the left on the conservative spectrum.
It’s starting to look like I may be the last conservative to leave the state. I’ll switch off the lights and lock up behind me.
Let the Republican Kalifornia ghetto decide.
That’s my biggest concern.
California needs to be pushed over the cliff, there are no other options.
It will mean Romney and guarantee a second Obama term.
It has a semi-open primary. Registered voters who have chosen "Decline to State" as their party may select a SINGLE party's partisan-primary ballot. (Of course, registered party members also can vote in their own party's primary.) Voters who are registered in another party cannot vote in the Republican primary.
Of course, any approach allows for mischief. Anyone may REGISTER IN any party at all, with little waiting period and no means of weeding out "Operation Whatever" clowns.
Newt will likely win the CA primary.
It's a closed primary with delegates awarded proportionally by Congressional District. 3 per each of the 53 districts and about a dozen at-large delegates.
Newt has been campaigning hard here.
If California decides the GOP nominee, they will overwhelmigly vote for Romney.
I tried to get people to vote for McClintock for governor but Arnold won in a landlide. California’s millions of RINO voters would nominate Romney in a similar landslide. Santorum is too religious for CA GOP and Gingrich is too smarmy.
If it is up to California, then Romney would be the nominee.
Yes - each CD elects 3 delegates, with 10 going to the overall winner statewide.
It’s a closed primary - only 121 Republicans voted in the primary of District 30 in 2008 (a number of others went uncontested) - those are likely to be low also.
