Obama Knows More About Foreign Armies and Jihadist Weapons Than About US Military Defenses

Disclaimer: I don't have much knowledge about high-powered weapons, so there's that...but, this week, Obama told the National Urban League that AK-47s belong in the hands of soldiers, not in the hands of criminals." He knows more about the weapons used by Third World foreign armies and jihadists, than about our own military.

However, U.S. military does not generally use the AD-47, a weapon originally developed in the Soviet Union that was subsequently adopted by many other communist states. The AK-47 also became the weapon of choice for guerilla armies and terrorist groups.

Today, AK-47s are typically to be found among enemy forces that U.S. troops encounter on the battlefield. Source: Breitbart

Our President hasn't a clue what our Military uses to defend this country, other than he wants to ban and defund most of whatever those defenses are.

The article goes on to say that the AK-47 is "relatively inexpensive," can be bought on the black market across the globe, for about $10 each in someplaces. Chicago might be one of those places. Photo Credit

Of course. He trained with them when he ‘visited’ Pahkeystahn in the early 80s, I think.

Either that, or he doesn’t know a darned thing about weapons, but keeps hearing terrified shrieking about “AK-47s”.

I’d like to know where in this world you can pick up an AK-47 for $10!

You can get an AK-47 in Obama’s “Pockistahn’s” neighbor for $10 bucks.

“I’d like to know where in this world you can pick up an AK-47 for $10!”

Lots of place outside the US. They genrally go for beween 8 and 15 bucks apiece in container load lots. In Russia you can get one for $15 one block off Nevskii Prospect, the main drag in Moscow.

That is why they are so popular.

Some call them AK-47 Type 4 but they are more commonly called AKMs.

AK-47s traditionally have a milled receiver. The current versions use a stamped receiver.

“This world” - No.

“Third World” - Yes.

“I don’t have much knowledge about high-powered weapons”

An AK-type ComBloc rifle, firing a short 7.62 X 39 cartridge, produces about the same power as a Winchester Model 1894 30.30 lever action deer rifle and a 30.30 hasn’t been considered “high-powered” since about 1894.

And he didn’t even attend the madrassa when growing up and attending the all-Muzzie religious schools of the predominantly Muzzie countries he spent much of his youth, so it seems to me that this knowledge of his remains inexplicable. Thanks maggiesnotebook.

Just checking — do I really *need* a /s tag?

Gotta be someplace that Obama can’t print money.

Sorry if this is construed as a hijack, but with the possibility of cross-the-isle legislation, a question:

With the AWB long since expired, what are - if any - the current restrictions on converting a thumb hole stock AK to the normal configuration?
