There may be far more to Sandy Hook incidents than guns

As Democrats and Progressives use this enormous tragedy as the tag necessary to push for nationwide gun control, permit me, a 30 year teacher of young adult males, to offer my reasons as to why this breakdown in our society is happening.

First of all, was Adam Lanza on any type of “mind altering” drugs in recent months or from his early childhood? Teachers of young males often encourage parents to put their young children on hyper activity medication just to make the classroom atmosphere easier to control. One of my students, a middle age mom, asked me if she should put her son on Ritalin? She was getting pressure from his school to do something about his...

Extremely noteworthy.
Did this young man have a positive man in his life? Almost certainly not.
Was he on psychotropic drugs? Almost certainly yes.
Will the education, medical, entertainment or governmental establishments admit they have any culpability beyond controlling firearms? Absolutely not.
We will see countless more horrors committed by severely damaged young men, white and black.
Progressivism is code for corruption, criminality and tyranny. It is time to bring their house down.

If you go back prior to the 1980s...the amount of sugar in a kid’s diet would be ten percent of what a kid consumes today.

I believe it’s a conscious and ongoing effort to neuter any kind of alpha male behavior. 30 years ago boys acting up would simply be that...boys being boys. Now, however - there’s a wide range of vaguely described “disorders” that lucky for us, can be treated with meds.

An added benefit for the Left is, every kid that gets put on lifetime maintenance meds for these disorders, is one less eligible for future military service.

Conspiracy? Could be I’m just crazy like that. :)

I am an old guy, remember the 60s clearly....the following surely defines the moment....
quote:
The debasement of white American males in progress for at least the past 20 years sees fathers pass along much disappointment to their young sons. And these Dads often are not under the same roof anymore. We’ve removed the male Rites of Passage rituals from the lives of our young sons

I grew up a liberal Democrat in a union household. I even argued for gun control at one time in my life. No more.
Our Democrat-controlled federal government used American tanks against American civilians at Waco, Texas. There were Active Duty military at Waco”advising” the FBI. Over 70 civilians died at Waco. This was a Democrat-controlled operation that was carefully planned, coordinated and executed. This wasn’t some crazy walking into a school. These civilians weren’t conducting guerilla raids on the locals. But the Democrat-controlled government sent American tanks in on them. And we couldn’t even fire Janet Reno because she’s a female Democrat.
Nope. History is too full of those bright progressives thinking, “This would be so much easier if I could just force people to follow my feelings.” they’re way more dangerous than any handgun.

I thought the Bushmaster .223 was found in the mother’s car. How did Adam manage to return it to the car?

LOL I was a sugar fiend in the 80s. I loved the sugar/milk "mud" in the bottom of a bowl of cereal. These days I don't like sweet stuff much.

In 1984, I was asked to analyze a "Character/sex education" curriculum. I got a team together and we went over it with a fine tooth comb. Our findings were rather interesting. The program was specially designed to disengage the student from any of the moorings that help a child to grow into an adult, most notably the parents, but also any faith in God. At one point, one member of my team said that he actually felt as though he was staring into the pit of hell as he read through the fifth grade lesson where the teacher was instructed to help the children come to terms with the Andes plane crash and the resulting cannibalism, with questions that kneaded emotions out of the children. Questions like: how would you feel if you and your friends were in a plane crash like that? Would you be able to eat your friends?

I took that program to an old parish priest, the kind of man whose common sense made him someone I just had to talk to. I showed him the very worst pages of the program. He read through it and put his hand on his forehead, sighed deeply and said: "You know you could have five kids go through this and four of them might end up with a few quirks, but that fifth one?" He then just shook his head.

My point is this - there have been programs just like the one I studied in place all over this country since the 80s. It was only a matter of time when those "fifth children" begin to commit acts of mass murder. Add anti-depressants and you have a recipe for disaster.

What I noticed in 1984 was that these programs were carefully constructed so that no one, not the teacher, the student, nor the parent would have any idea that anything was happening to the student. We were successful at getting the program we studied thrown out. However, we had no way of convincing others as to the danger these kind of "character" programs posed.

You’ll find many on this site who will disagree with you about Waco. I’m not one of them. Sending federal agents to Ft. Hood to learn how to operate a tank is the same as using the military in the assualt as far as I’m concerned. I also point out those agents were trained for several weeks. The assault was in the works for at least as long.

And how did this all start? The feds said they had “evidence” the Branch Davidians had illegal weapons. None of those “illegal” weapons were ever produced. Waco wsa on big SWAT team sent in under false pretenses. The real reason is the feds wanted ALL of the guns. Now they’ll use the school slaughter as a reason to go after yours and mine.

As Democrats and Progressives use this enormous tragedy as the tag necessary to push for nationwide gun control, permit me, a 30 year teacher of young adult males, to offer my reasons as to why this breakdown in our society is happening.

I can tell you exactly why it is happening. First, leftists have eschewed religion and prayer from the schools and have initiated a war against Christianity. When our schools included these topics, there was significantly less violence in the schools, primarily demonstrated by fist fights by overly hormoned males trying to impress a girl.

Second, neither the schools nor the parents teach personal responsibility or respecting others. This is one of the reasons that bullying has become a national epidemic. Again, these are things that religion and prayer teach.

Third, most of the kids are bored and frustrated with the school system. They know that they are being screwed by a school system that fails to teach them the tools and skills they will need to guide them through the rest of their lives. As a result of their frustration, they act out and often resort to violence as a means of venting their frustration and rage.

The fact is that for all the nonsense that has been introduced into the school system, kids today intrinsically recognize that they are being short-changed by their education. Back when I was in school (shortly after the invention of the wheel) there were an average of 33 - 35 kids to one teacher. No teacher's aids, no helpers; just 1 teacher and 35 kids. We learned more and were demonstrably more prepared to enter the world outside of school when we graduated.

The left and its unions have turned the public school system into a jobs pogram for other leftists who don't want to work and especially don't want to teach. It is NOT a coincidence that, across America, the college of education at most universities has the lowest entry and graduation requirements.

“I thought the Bushmaster .223 was found in the mother’s car.”

That info. was wrong. All three guns were by the guy when he died. Medical exminer said all children were killed by that Bushmaster. He didn’t use the other two guns.

With scores of federal/state/local agencies working on ‘processing facts’, it’s amazing how the *facts* are so fungible.

First reported, they got 2 brothers mixed-up. Then, there were 2 handguns and a .223cal rifle; next, a report surfaced there were 4 semi-autos and a .223cal rifle. That report was scrubbed, and it was back to 2 pistols and a rifle. Then, the ME said all 26 were shot with ‘long gun’, but it was found in the car. Were there 2 rifles? Only one was registered to mother. Early reports also said his mother was KG teacher, and was shot w/ students in classroom. That was scrubbed and then she was reported shot a unrelated location. Now, she was never a teacher but had conflict w/ school. Report this morning said she was a “prepper” readying for apocalypse.

is anyone as confused and PO’d as I am, at the apparent incompetence here?

I teach 3rd grade and we are forbidden from even insinuating that a child might have a diagnosis of add/adhd. When parents ask me if I think that their child may have add/adhd, I always tell them that I am not a doctor, and it isn’t my place to try and make a diagnosis. Obviously, some kids are more rambunctious than others. As a teacher you just have to learn how to deal with it. My biggest problem with the education system is that administrators are way too quick to label any unkind look or word as bullying. When there is an actual case of bullying administrators want to punish victims who fight back with the same punishment as the bully. Instinctively kids can see that this is unfair, but many of them just hold it inside until they snap. I am only 36, but I remember being able to handle kids who were bullying me without fear of repercussions. The word “bullying” never entered my mind as a kid. I just recognized that some people are simply assholes.

BTW: “assault weapons” are illegal in CT.

Be sure to recount that with “wait, didn’t we already go thru this ‘ban’ nonsense?”
