I took a friend from work to the range and allowed him to shoot my guns. He LOVED it! I was told by the previous friend that I took shooting that I was a, "Damn good teacher!" Are there any NRA certified instructors on here? What does it take to become one? We should increase our number.
You should definitely go for it! They need good instructors, mine wasn’t all that great and if there is a good one out there word of mouth brings you business! Good marketing along with all of the people buying guns, your business should be booming! (No pun intended.)
Thanks.
There’s that, and I was thinking about taking a course on gunsmithing.
All of those firearms being bousht will eventually need maintenance at some point.
I’ll definitely get on Obama’s list now.
YAYS!!!
Cool. Thanks for the link.
I’m not NRA certified, but I am USMC certified. I have been thinking about getting the NRA certification.
I was certified but have not kept my certification up to date so I am not now a certified instructor.
Our course was at a Mississippi state park and was 3 days. We did a bit of shooting but it was mostly lectures by various instructors.
We did have to take and pass an exam at the end. It was not a difficult test, at least I didn’t think so.
I am in Rifle. Took one full weekend. Not too difficult. I’ve shot competitively for > 12 years.
I’ve been a Training Counselor for almost 10 years.
13th MEU USS New Orleans, and 15th MEU USS Tripoli.
Heh!
We carried the 11th MEU and 15th MEU on the USS PELELIU in ‘94 and ‘96.
Australia was a blast.
I’m one. Drop me a private freepmail.
NRA Certified Training Counselors
train and certify NRA Certified Instructors.
I never got to Australia. Tanker escort in the gulf during the 13th MEU cruise, and Somalia during the 15th MEU screwed that up for us. Both times we were supposed to hit Perth for port calls. We went to Phuket instead.
Rifle, Shotgun and Range Safety here. Use mostly for Boy Scout training and recreational shooting. Certification course took a weekend apiece.
