US Attorney General Eric Holder issued a written demand that the Russian Government apprehend NSA whistle blower Edward Snowden and send him back to the United States to face charges of leaking national secrets. In an effort to soothe concerns that Snowden might be ill-treated, Holder promised that we will not be seeking the death penalty, nor will Mr. Snowden be subjected to torture.
To bolster his credibility, Holder cited the case of Private Bradley Manning, the U.S. soldier on trial for providing documents to WikiLeaks. Private Manning wasnt tortured, Holder pointed out. He has been provided with full accommodations of food and lodging while enjoying a fair trial.
Upon his arrest, Manning was held in solitary confinement for 23 hours a day. The Government is seeking a sentence of imprisonment for life for actions it says aided and abetted the enemy.
In the event that Holders sweet talk fails to persuade the Russians to surrender Snowden, the US Senate is taking up a bill introduced by Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC). The bill would impose sanctions against any country that harbors Snowden.
Snowdens revelation of the surveillance performed by the NSA has done incalculable harm to the image of the United States, Graham asserted. Now that everyone knows the government is spying on them their vision of America as a free country has been irreparably damaged. Snowdens fleeing to Russia has allowed this notorious trampler of human rights to pose as a defender of this traitors freedom of speech and travel.
Graham said ideally, Snowden ought to realize what hes done is wrong and take his punishment like a manas my good friend Senator McCain did when he was tormented for seven years as a prisoner-of-war in Vietnam. Failing this, it is important that Congress go on record condemning Snowdens treachery and not let President Obama hog all the credit by taking him out with a drone strike while we look like a bunch of gutless wonders.

Allow?
Russia isn’t a sovereign country any more I guess.

Speaking of aiding a abetting the enemy, I have a few thought about the democrat and republican parties in America.
I trust the Russians more then I trust the filthy Obumbo Communist regime.
The world is fleecing American right now, because of incompetent, inexperienced, and destructive current leaders.
No one is going to do anything our administration wants. Ohhhh no not sanctions, that will do so much. If he is such a threat to national security, send in a spec ops team and retrieve him. Threatening Russia with sanctions is just going to give Putin a good laugh.
Snowden exposed our government for what they are, criminal perverts with our best interests on the soles of their shoes.
If congress cared they would have defunded the NSA, there shouldn’t have been ANY NO VOTES, because not one American is okay with their privacy being invaded.
As long as he isn’t giving anyone top secret plans or documents, or technological knowledge then I see no problem.
If he comes back here ever, he is going to be in a military prison for the rest of his life. Hopefully a not so moronic President will let him come back with no repercussions at some point in the future.
The Russians hope most of America shares your sentiment. The average Russian hates America and Americans Ive been there in the last year or so and Ive seen it...
Putin is playing his hand, although I’m sure he has no love for this traitor, but its an opportunity to harm the USA aided by the usual suspects here..
Damn near got me.
Snowden exposed that the Department of Defense (NSA) is engaged in the most invasive domestic spying the world has ever seen. It is far deeper than the USSR, the Nazis, or the STASi ever possessed.
It is a direct violation of the constitution. It flies in the face of every principle this nation was founded on. Snowden is no traitor. The DOD and its NSA are.
And my experience is that the average Russian deeply enjoys Americans, but dislikes the US Government.
oh please..
Thanks for the Ping, John.
Putting “credibility” and “Holder” in the same sentence...LOL. :)
In just the last year, the political party class has given the Department of Defense the power to arrest and detain Americans citizens and hold them incommunicado, with no hearings required beyond a military tribunal.
Then the DOD has morphed it’s NSA into a domestic spy agency that would make the STASI hide its face in shame.
They explain to us that it’s to keep us safe from terrorists.
Meanwhile, this same government that must violate our privacy to “protect us”, is fighting on the side of Al Qeida in Syria, Libya, and Egypt. Our borders have been flung wide open bring in tens of millions of third worlders. We have brought in a flood of Moslems from Iraq, Somalia, Pakistan, Morroco, Syria, Jordan, etc etc.
Odd behavior for a group determined to to even flush the constitution to “protect” the country.
I trust the Russians more then I trust the filthy Obumbo Communist regime.
I said that exact same thing to a lib this afternoon. He had no response and just looked at me. Then I asked him to name one good thing Obama has done for America and he still had no response. I now count that Useful Idiot among my enemies.
I’m sure that you are grateful that you don’t have to see and deal with Obama supporters.
“The average Russian hates America and Americans”

I do not know about that. I spent about 8 years in central/east Europe, until I moved out in 2009.
I found most former captives of Communism to be quite fond of Americans.
“Im sure that you are grateful that you dont have to see and deal with Obama supporters.”

I am grateful that I do not have to be back in the USSA.
My expat friends are also very anti Obumbo.
My expat friends are also very anti Obumbo.
I have expat friends in Central America and Columbia and Chile and they all detest the arxomuslim as well.
The whole world is looking upon America with wonder.....wondering why we are committing suicide.
“oh please”
That’s the sum of your argument? It is beyond debate that the DOD and NSA have pulled off something the STASI never even approached.
The STASI was probably the most invasive domestic spying realm the world ever saw until the post 911 USA. But they were limited by technology. Steaming letters open and bugged apartments seem almost quaint.
They had 1.4 million photos and enough documents that would stretch 50 miles if laid end to end.
Its almost laughable how amateurish that sounds compared to the FACT that they can record your postings here, as you type them.
It’s hard to face facts, but we are at a crossroads nationally. We are becoming a national security state in the name of “terrorism”.
We can be free, or a security state.
But still, it’s odd. If we want to achieve protection, why are we supporting islamists around the earth? Why was a moslem brotherhood princess basically second to Hillary at state? Why did moslem immigration increase 5 fold after 9/11? Why are the borders open for tens of millions?
But suddenly, our protectors desperately need to read every email and text. They need to record ever single digitized communication.
And for extra credit why was Major Hassan not arrested before fort hood when he was actually in email communication with the upper echelon of Al Qeida? Why were the Tsarnaev brothers not stopped depite Russian warnings, jihadi videos they posted, and trips to Chechnya?
I guess the USA won’t be -officially- over until some USAF Jet pilot finally defects to Russia with his F-15 so he can escape a homo commander, and a chaplain who cannot mention Jesus.
Weird times.
