Forty-four people were shot over the last three days in a bloody epidemic sweeping Rahm Emanuel’s Chicago. Yet CBS has, thus far, ignored the crime wave.

In contrast, ABC’s Good Morning America and CBS This Morning on Tuesday both briefly covered the violence in the city run by Barack Obama’s former chief of staff. […]

Even though CBS allowed no time for tragic news out of Chicago, the network’s morning show devoted four minutes to a possible maple syrup shortage. …

The forty-seven people dead....simply causes a thousand revenge seekers down the line. When you start to see one hundred people shot or killed over seven days...maybe it’ll get some attention then.

You have to ask yourself....if you lived in such a place...why would you stay? It would take a huge chunk of my patience and understanding....to just sit and wait for some miracle to come. I’d have the car packed up....say adios, and find some place in the heartland where they average one murder every ten years.

why would you stay?

Resistance to change? Don't want to leave friends/relatives in the community? Don't got no car to leave in?

There's always an excuse.

It is kinda strange, though, because if you're getting social assistance, you can get that anywhere in the state, you don't have to stay living in that free-fire hell.

I keep telling everybody, that Hillary isn’t going to be the Dem Candidate, RAHM IS....

There is a real reason that the OFA radicals aren’t making any of the Obama campaign data available to the DNC.

CBS may ignore it because it is “normal” activity. Or maybe the uninformed people of America wouldn’t believe such a story.

Meanwhile the country is preoccupied with Donald Sterling and you have every prominent lefty tripping over themselves to get face time on television to condemn him. The world is disentegrating all around us but racism is a much more important issue than anything else to these people. There are tornadoes pounding the south. There is a brewing battle out west between the BLM and landowners. Congress is about to propose an amnesty bill in the summer which could destroy our economic well-being and we’re spending time on this nonsense. Lord, what a sorry people we Americans are becoming.

We are becoming what most of the people seem to want. Dumbed down and easily distracted. Like a kitten chasing a laser pointer.
We are doomed as a nation.

"You have to ask yourself....if you lived in such a place...why would you stay?

"The Great Society." It's the location of its feeding trough. Dependency on government largess. In cities like Chicago, D.C., and Baltimore, three consecutive generations have now come into the world, completely dependent upon it. Concepts such as self sufficiency, individual achievement, and personal initiative have been bred out of them; all replaced by dependency, group think and collectivist mentality. In the pre-digital age, urban riots could always be counted upon to simmer down within a week or so, as folks quieted down and lined up in front of the local welfare agency to receive their checks from the feeding trough.

4 dead, 35 injured in weekend shootings

Four people were killed and at least 35 have been wounded in shootings across the city since Friday night, Chicago Police said.

The most recent fatal shooting happened early Sunday in the Logan Square neighborhood, where a 21-year-old woman was gunned down while riding in a car on Fullerton Avenue near Kedzie Boulevard.

Cindy Bahena, 21, was a back-seat passenger in a car headed eastbound in the 3500 block of West Fullerton Avenue about 12:25 a.m. Sunday when a group of men standing on a sidewalk shouted gang slogans and fired shots, authorities said. Bahena, of the 200 block of North Laramie Avenue, was taken to Norwegian-American Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Police said the male driver of the vehicle is a known gang member, and Bahena was not the intended target of the shooting. No one was in custody Sunday night.

Early Saturday, a 17-year-old boy was shot and killed in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side. About 2 a.m., Jaquez Williams was standing in the 5500 block of West North Avenue when someone approached him and shot him in the head, authorities said. Williams, who lived about a block away, was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:35 a.m., according to the medical examiner’s office.

About 1:15 a.m. Saturday, a man was killed and a woman was wounded in a shooting in the Back of the Yards neighborhood.

They were in a home in the 5400 block of South Winchester Avenue when someone outside opened fire.

Martarvian Emery, 21, who was in the kitchen, was shot in the chest, authorities said. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the medical examiner’s office. A 19-year-old woman suffered a gunshot wound in her leg. She was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, police said.

Late Friday, a 32-year-old woman was fatally shot in the West Pullman neighborhood about an hour after attending an anti-violence event.

Police found Leonore Draper in a vehicle with a gunshot wound in her arm in 1300 block of West 116th Street, where officers originally heard gunshots, authorities said. Draper, who lived in the same block, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where she died, according to the medical examiner’s office.

She was an employee of the Chicago Public Schools, serving as a budget analyst, CPS spokesman Joel Hood said.

The most recent nonfatal shooting happened Sunday afternoon in the Riverdale neighborhood on the Far South Side.

A 26-year-old man was standing in the 400 block of East 133rd Street about 2 p.m. when someone walked out of a gangway and fired shots, striking the man in his left thigh, police said. The shooter then ran off.

The man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said.

At least 33 others have been wounded in shootings since the weekend began. No one was in custody for any of the shootings.

They only ignored it because it cannot possibly be true, Guns are Illegal in Chicago. Nobody could have been shot.
