Celebrating the ethnic diversity of America, President Barack Obama said more than two dozen foreign-born service members who became U.S. citizens at a White House ceremony on the Fourth of July are vivid reminders that the country is, and always has been, a nation of immigrants.
He said the vast range of backgrounds and experiences that made America a melting pot for more than 200 years also makes it stronger, but that the immigration system has to be retooled for the U.S. to keep its place as the greatest nation on earth.
"If we want to keep attracting the best and the brightest from beyond our shores, we're going to have to fix our immigration system, which is broken," Obama said...

You're also the first Freeper I have seen who is against any and all forms of legal or otherwise immigration. Most have enough common sense to understand the difference in limited legal and unlimited illegal immigration. And again you put words in my mouth saying I support things which I do not making it look like I support out of control immigration. I don't consider limited & well monitored immigration as being pretty far gone on immigration nor do I know of any other Freepers who could call it that except for a TROLL like you just wanting to paly games. I didn’t say anything about out of control, only that you are arguing for continued mass legal immigration.
Lots of the conservatives here want to end immigration or a moratorium of at least 50 years on immigration, we need to end it and rebuild our culture and our nation and our national identity, and cut off the endless supply of democrat voters who are overwhelming us in elections.
California is gone forever to republicans, and the pro-immigration crowd hopes to take Texas next, and then the democrats will be unchallenged in presidential races.
I would say the troll is the guy fighting fiercely to keep feeding the democrat party with foreigners.

Republicans aren't going to save you nor will the DEMs. The two parties are as one. The majority in office are bought and paid for by the lobbyist. Those lobbyist want open immigration and amnesty. They are also very pro-China like two of our recent GOP POTUS were.
It would be a good idea to begin massive deportation of all illegals regardless of national origin. That would show our true economic state. The next step needed is a high import tax. Make it unprofitable for Walmart for example to demand companies they buy from to stop taking their production outside the USA.
Next? Allow Union busting and pass a national Right To Work law so any person has the right to work & negotiate with their employer their own employment and income without belong to any labor union or forced to pay dues.
Close the cultural collapse down at it's source. Close the U.S. Dept of Education and make education a state and local matter as it should be. Close down the EPA and immediately allow utilities to begin rebuilding grids and power plants Expand current oil fields and double our refinery capacity. Get the price of Diesel fuel to back under $2 a gallon.
Encourage but not by federal funding Faith based Programs to replace or help in welfare programs. Allow churches to once again operate mission based healthcare. End Obamacare and end the Kennedy HMO ACT which was what initially started us on the healthcare crisis. End all public assistance except to U.S. citizens.
This nation can do a lot for itself to turn things around. But first it will take a change in heart of the nation as a whole. I don't mean bleeding heart I mean a return to Judeo/Christian standards. We must also realize for the sake of our survival Islam and our nation can not coexist.
For ones who still insist in coming here illegally there is a piece of land between Carlsbad New Mexico and El Paso after you pass through the mountains. It's a nice huge salt flat. Build a prison there for them. No phone, no TV, no exercise rooms, and put them on road gangs. Make the possession of false or forged identity for the purpose of illegal immigration a felony punishable by 5 years in federal prison. Upon sentence completion deport the person.
For obvious agriculture needs migrant workers should be allowed with the understanding once the seasonal need is over they return home. For this purpose they should be bonded. Allow California and other states to split off & form another upon majority approval by the counties voters. Illinois would also benefit greatly from such a law as would Michigan. The cities that wan to take themselves down let them and not other suffer for it.
Re-establish a states right to have Port Of Entry. This used to be common in the U.S. and I know for certain Cali had one in 1984. They inspected all commercial vehicles and they were strict.
Allow kids in schools to once again assemble voluntarily for morning devotion, pledge of allegiance, and prayer. This didn't stop in my state until I started high school in 1972. Actually my senior year 1976 the seniors met for a service at a local nondenominational church a few days before graduation. Our high school principle was also an ordained minister but he did not lead the service.
Plenty can be done. But first the oligarchy of the two parties must be ended and Constitutional boundaries {limitations} of federal government and it's powers restored.
Any foreign aid to any nation should be given only to nations who honor our borders and do not create a nuisance to us including drug cartels and terrorism.
Now I only know of one or two senators in the GOP who would vote for any of this. One is Ted Cruz the son of an immigrant. The likes of McCain won't nor Graham, Boehner, Alexander, McConnell, Paul, Corker, etc. If McCain and others put the effort into securing our borders they do allowing them to remain wide open something might get done.
Last election A Dem ran for US senator in my state who on all issues was far right of the Republican.
Your legal immigrants replaced the native voters of California, and now they own it, why do you think the left assumes they will own Texas? Do you think it is because of some voters from the 1960s?
Do you really not know how immigrants vote? Are you under the impression that traditional Americans are the ones supporting the democrat party?
What do you think people are talking about when they talk about the conservative and republican voters being out numbered by immigrants and their offspring?
Our culture in the US changed and it brought about entitlement focused voters. Kids being abandoned by dad and moms having babies for government checks. That started in about 1964 or 1965. Add 20 years to that and you have another generation of DEM voters. Likely a 5 - 6 fold increase from that one group. They too helped the DEMs they too changed Cali's political landscape. If every illegal left tomorrow morning Cali would likely still be a DEM state. The ideals of it were taught in homes and the classrooms. It wasn't just immigration that did it.

This path for California started distinctly during the Clinton Admin.... with the abandonment of Dornan (a man the establishment GOP hated) for Loretta Sanchez.. the darling (along with her sister) of the DEM Machine. Not one GOPe supported challenging the obvious and proliferate voter fraud of that election...twas the mid terms. So take your crappola analysis and file it in your nether regions where it truly will find a compassionate home.

I have voted DEM for a national seat only one time in my life that was the last senate election. Why? Because the man running against Bob Corker who got on the DEM ticket by default by being unopposed was running on a far more conservative platform. Quite a few Freepers did the same. The DEM Party had a meltdown and tried to sue to get the guy off their ticket.
What does that have to do with the VOTe?
Take the immigrant vote from the left and you starve them.

LOL You’re telling me that when the GOP nominee was Arnoid LOL. Cali hasn’t been conservative since Reagan. After Reagan left as governor many portions of the voting dynamics changed yes including immigrants and a whole lot more. How conservative are you? The last GOP POTUS I feel was not owned by GOP-E lobbyist was Reagan. If you’ll stop and think a few minutes about what I’ve posted you’ll remember Reagan rode into office on a bipartisan Religious right grassroots movement. That is the problem at hand. Our nation abandoned GOD and our leadership reflects it.
The best and the brightest are the ones like my grandparents and all their friends, who came here in their 40s after the 2nd world war and spent their free evenings playing SCRABBLE with each other in English with a dictionary on the table.
The guys pictured in post one are NOT PLAYING SCRABBLE IN ENGLISH. They are drinking beer, tattooing up their faces, and screwing girls without protection at night, making anchor babies. They are also robbing convenience stores and killing innocents with their drunk driving.
