Southerland Quits the EPA – It’s Time for Sense to Lead Once More
IWB ^ | Mark Angelides

Posted on 08/03/2017 5:50:48 AM PDT by davikkm

After 30 years in the Environmental Protection Agency, Elizabeth “Betsy” Southerland has quit her post in a rejection of the direction the agency is taking under Administrator, Scott Pruitt. Whilst the media are having a field day with the news, it’s important to remember that Southerland had a hand in some of the most wasteful, damaging policies that have come out of the EPA in recent decades.

If we look back to the beginning of her time in the EPA, scandals regarding the use of “near criminal” science and “fraudulent” data are rife. Congressman John Dingell (D-Mich.) said that “It (the EPA) cooks the books with great vigor.” And that they are using information to create expensive policy that has been put out by a scientist who “cooked the books” and performed “criminally fraudulent work.”

I wonder where they are all going.

Might be worth finding out. Someone may be building a shadow swamp.

Could it be that she was the one responsible for that horrendous spill in Colorado? Maybe she’s getting out before she’s indicted. And if she is the one responsible, I hope she’s indicted anyway. Consequences are the only thing that holds people accountable for criminal actions. And the Obama Admin really needs to meet their consequences soon. That’s the only way that the Dems will (hopefully) start acting in a responsible manner.

Thank goodness she is leaving. She has probably done her share of damage. I’m sure she has a pension & is probably old enough to retire,so I would suggest she go home & not try to make trouble any more than she has already. I would hope that most places where she might work would know of her reputation & treat her accordingly;ie: not hire her.

Gonna take a lot more to get EPA back to anything like “sense”, but every one helps.

“That’s the only way that the Dems will (hopefully) start acting in a responsible manner.”

I can’t think of anything in the history of the Democrats that would support that wishful thought.
