A prominent liberal author has compared the red “Make America Great Again” hats to Nazi swastikas, and told “normal people” — that is, people who don’t support Trump — to stop wearing any kind of red hat, lest they start “making people scared.”
Rebecca Makkai, who has been a finalist for both a Pulitzer Prize and National Book Award, made the controversial comments on Twitter, according to Fox News.
To be clear, Makkai really was talking about all red hats. In fact, she even specifically asked fans of sports teams that wear red hats — such as the Cincinnati Reds and Washington Nationals — to not wear those hats out in public to avoid making other people afraid.
“Not worth making disenfranchised people feel unsafe,” she wrote.
Makkai also had a problem with MAGA parody hats:
“Also, for the love of God: The clever folks wearing “Make America Read Again” or whatever caps — NO,” she said. “You’re making everyone scared. Don’t do it.”
Honestly, there are so many things wrong with this that I hardly even know where to start.

Believe me lady, I felt PLENTY disenfranchised from 2009 - 2017.

That’s awful. Mine ditched me when my ex and I broke up. If I’d have known that they were only putting up with me because I was dating my ex, I would have found more proper friends.
We always had political differences, as they were all borderline socialists, including my ex, but nobody was vicious towards me about my beliefs until after the breakup. He even rubbed it in my face when Obama won, to the point that I was in tears, and that is unlike me. We broke up five months later, but because he was already cheating and didn’t want to be with a sick person anymore. Way to treat a renal patient, huh?
You’re right, sadly. They had good parties though and I had fun with them. Gotta find a whole new set of friends.

That's why red is the color of the Liberal party in Canada... Why it's the color of the traditional communist flag and why red was prominent in Nazi Germany's flag. Google 'socialist flag' and the color 'red' will be is as prominent as the nose on your face. The color 'blue' in a flag represents conservatism, the color 'red' liberalism and the color 'white' represents neutrality. The true 'Fascist' party flag, the one created by Mussolini contained the color 'black' to represent Fascism.
When television began showing color election broadcast in the late 1960's, the Republican party was always represented by the color blue on every television network broadcast electoral map. That was the norm right up until the 1992 election between Bush and Clinton. During that election some genius at CBS decided to show the Republican party in red, and the Democrats in blue. They showed Ross Perot with the color 'green'.
The Republicans won the Presidency in 1968, 1972, 1980, 1984 and 1988. So when CBS decided to change their electoral map and Clinton won in 1992... Other liberal networks decided to follow suite... I believe Fox was the only network that had Republicans in blue during the 1996 election and by 2000... Even they had been co-opted.
Dave Lepp's historical election map has always maintained the traditional election map colors of the Republican and Democrat parties... And I commend him for doing so.
So while the Liberals, Socialist, Communist and ultra left wing of the United States may have co-opted American's into thinking that 'Red' is a conservative color... They are incorrect. Red is traditionally their color. Blue has always been the color of conservatism... So go ahead and buy a MEGA hat... But make mine 'blue' please.

Indeed....like there aren’t other color MAGA hats available. I sort of like the red one that says Made You Look. There are all sorts of variations and anti Trump hats as well.
