The Guild 9-30-2004 I'm a real man too, I just don't have pictures to prove it...
Rush Limbaugh ^

Posted on 09/30/2004 5:54:23 PM PDT by BigWaveBetty

From the Kerry interview with Diane Sawyer.

RUSH: So Diane Sawyer says, "Okay, so tomorrow night the dual for a man who says he's tired of the Bush campaign defining him." She's holding up pictures of him wind surfing, by the way. She's holding up pictures of Kerry wind surfing and Bush chopping trees and clearing brush down there in Texas, and she says, "So tomorrow night, the dual for a man who says he's tired of the Bush campaign defining him, and that even his infamous wind surfing was an act of image rebellion, is there something about a candidate who wind surfs and snowboards up against these images? So is there a symbolism here you think people are responding to?"

KERRY: You know I do those things, too; I just didn't have those photographs taken, and I love doing everything --

RUSH: Stop the tape. Now, the question here didn't even make sense to me as I read it, but here's what he's answering to. She's holding up pictures of Bush clearing brush and Kerry wind surfing and says is this a bad image for you? And what he's saying is, "Oh, I clear brush, too. I clear brush, too. I do those things, too; I just don't have those photographs taken. I just didn't have those photographs." Just like there are no photographs when you fell down the ski slope, huh? He says he's got photos. [program observer interruption] No, he doesn't have any photographs. That's it. He's cleared brush at... I don't know if he means at Bush's ranch or not, that's a good question. Where has he cleared brush? Has he cleared brush up in Idaho at the ski chalet? Has he cleared brush up at Nantucket? Has he cleared brush in Beacon Hill to move the fire hydrant? Maybe he helps the gardeners. Maybe that's what he does, I don't know, but he says he's never taken pictures of it. So here's the rest of the bite.

KERRY: -- person. I'm going to be myself, Diane. That's what's important. You know, these pictures appear because I'm not trying to appear to be somebody different. I'm not trying to fake it. I'm going out and being who I am.

SAWYER: They portrayed him as elite sports and elitism?

KERRY: They've got to go talk to a lot of the guys who enjoy doing wind surfing and the guys I go with are, you know, regular, folks. They're carpenters and electricians, guys who work on the island. If they want to have fun with it, that's fine. What matters here are the American people, not what I do in a couple of hours when I have some free time to go get some exercise.

.

.

.

.

Go get 'em girlie man.

Hi .. debate was really great.. this am took 3 hours to read through the live thread... Our little group went down to Case area for pre debate FReep.. all of us in car had "bad feeling".. the protest warriors had left for social get together.. they warmed us the "opponents" were very rough. When we got to area, the police said it was our right to go in their & butt heads.. but the one said if I was his wife he would BEG me not to go. We had a 79 year old frail man with us (WW2 vet) & so decided to just go to adjoining county for pubbie party/debate viewing.

I gave away my post party ticket with VPOTUS as my two companions did not have tickets & inconsiderate to even ask them to wait.. good night overall anyway.

Sometimes we have to just make the best of situations.

question.. i tried to accusers Guild via the "buttons" on the home page of FR.. got a page stating it was unavailable to me as I did NOT have the right credentials. (?)

Did they find me out? lol

I did go back through pages of pings to find this one which may/may not be the most recent guild thread.

Hope you are all having a good day.. bright, sunny warmish here in NE Ohio.. I am having a relatively easy/lazy day.. well for many it would be lots of work but for me it about half.. not quite as much energy. Think I am fighting a sinus infection. Pumping the C & zinc..

Probably sound advice Dolly. After reading story after story of republican campaign offices being shot at and one getting a mob attack in the middle of the blooming day recently, I'd say they're getting desperate and won't hesitate to employ violence at any time on any person.

The Guild button worked ok for me but FR has been doing some strange things lately. Prolly just a glitch.

Weather here in sunny Florida isn't as usual but it's hot, muggy and drizzling rain. We felt some Autumn in the air for a few days after Hurricane Jeanne but now we're back to the same old.

On a good news note, a hurricane guru stated last week that he thought the season would end with a fizzle. From his lips.....

The recent attacks on GOP headquarters (and, by implication, volunteers) are disgusting and frightening, but the sad thing is that they're not all that surprising, given the level of hatefulness that permeates the Democrat party. It all comes from above, i.e., the DNC, especially when you consider the perps in Orlando were union thugs, and it's the DNC that's been busing union thugs to Kerry rallies all over the country. As I mentioned before, it was bused-in union guys - all wearing their official T-shirts - who assaulted one of our elderly anti-Kerry protesters when he was in town July 31. I hope McAuliffe and his puppetmasters, the Clintons, are proud of themselves.

I don't expect any trouble when I help out at our local GOP headquarters, but I will be carrying my pistola, just in case (thank goodness for concealed carry laws).

You need to be wearing pearls with your jammies. If that doesn't work, get out your egg dish and place it next to the keyboard.

Just listened to the man who had his wrist broken by the union thugs at the Orlando GOP headquarters on a local radio station, his hand was caught in the door and the thugs smashed the door on his wrist. I'm checking the local TV stations to see if they cover that and other attacks from democrats. Ick, I really dislike local news.

Here's the election news....

Pew Research Poll after Thursday debate. 49% Bush - 44% Kerry. No debate bump for Kerry! Ha. And no report so far on attacks. They'll probably make us wait until the 6pm broadcast. One of those, "Can your medication kill you? Find out which one at 6pm!" Did I tell you I dislike local news?

Let me take that back, we might not hear about this on the NBC affiliate, they don't even have a story about it on their website.

Back in 2000 there were two instances caught on video where dems attacked Bush supporters. One incident caught on tape was a woman (a woman mind you!) was kicking a stroller (and screaming obscenities) with a child sitting in it because the mom had adorned the stroller with Bush/Cheney signs and had the nerve to walk through the park during a Gore rally.

Come to think of it, I saw those videos on the ABC station, I'll check their site asap.

Keep that pistol handy. It's time I learned how to shoot one.

The FReeper Nomad that was with us was very angry that these people frightened us enough to take away our first amendment rights. We gave them permission , yes..

I have been doing a lot of thinking lately about the Dems I know that are family/acquaintances. I can't truly say friends.. Just because you have known them for years & share some history does truly not make friends.

Sometimes we go through psychotic efforts & walk constantly on eggshells to keep "friends" .

for what?

I tried to think of the common denominator of all the folks (you know the ones that send you the hateful emails blasting GWB etc) or like one I got the other day.. Religiosity is NOT the answer (I emailed back.. it depends on the question)

The only common factor was lack of a spiritual walk. None of them in my life & there are many family/friends. Never go to church, never have.

Now church alone does NOT make a spiritual walk. We all know that.. My next door neighbor who is a monster In MANY ways & poison's neighborhood pets & otherwise "helps them to disappear" is a RAT & also a Regular 3 times week Southern Baptist. (I am not downing S. Baptist faith. I was ordained in it in 1991) - just using the statement that he puts on a good show but life does not reflect.

These people hate GWB's faith walk, don't respect life the way we do... would rather kill unborn children than capital criminals, and have a very self centered agenda much of the time.

I know the other big group of Anti bush folks are the TRUE peaceniks.. the Buddhist types.. etc. Anti war & for that reason anti Bush. I don't think this group is the trouble makers. shooting, super abusive at rallies etc.

just some rambling thoughts..

hope all are having a decent evening.. gorgeous here..

All we can do is judge folks by what they do, and not what they say.

Don't piss on my leg and tell me it's raining, for crying out loud.

Cheers, Dolly.

Read the post in my tagline.
I believe a portion of the crazies are being inticed through monetary means to perform to do what they do.
The other portion are Communists who really do want to "live and let live" like Roman Times. Why else would all the most powerful and wealthiest people in the world want W out of office? Because he frowns on their debauchery and his allows the masses to live free and make their own path spiritually and financially without being subservient to any Man.

Long winded, I know, but the post in my tagline scared me today.

LOL, any pearls, even imaginary ones will work, but Ladies of the Guild are known for their trademark pearls. : )

And ditto for the deviled egg dish. Welcome to The Guild!

Speaking of Mama T, I just got off the phone with my mother, a Pittsburgh resident, who said TerAYzah was in town recently and finally got around to visiting one of the areas (near her "farm" estate in Fox Chapel) that was hard-hit by the Hurricane Ivan flooding of 9/17. My mother said TerAYzah walked around, saw the devastation, and said something to the effect of, I wanted to come and see, but there's nothing I can do, of course. Nothing she can do? How about a million bucks or so to help people who have no utilities, no furnace (and the temperature has been in the 30s and 40s the past few days), no clothing, no furnishings, some lost their entire houses - and there's nothing Teresa can do!!!!
