Irony: Fear of Bush make DUmmies reverse position on guns!

I know, we don't want DU links here, but most of us like to go there once in awhile to be entertained by their misfortune and perverted sense of reality. They are now coming out in support of the 2nd amendment! Oh, the irony... But I guess they should be commended for taking the right side for once, albeit for the wrong purpose. Here are som hilarious quotes:

"Gun ownership is essential to anyone who fears tyranny and especially the rise of fascism." (Remember, this comes from a LIBERAL)

"As the country is no longer democratic, everyone should examine protecting their own interests locally, including arming yourselves and refraining from crossing the border into Jesusland (if you live outside that area). If you live in Jesusland, and you don't have a gun, you're just suicidal." (This speaks for itself, doesn't it?)

"It wasn't so freepers could own AKs. It's so ordinary people - that's us, DUers - would not have to suffer under the thumb of a tyrant. That includes those who would steal elections, or even if elected fairly, would turn against the needs and desires of the people." (These sickos actually BELIEVE we're going to round them up in camps, but hey, as long as they vote against the next gun ban...)

"Oddly, about a week ago I was thinking maybe I should buy some more 00 buckshot, just in case Bush won and things got weird all of a sudden. We might not need to arm ourselves to the teeth right away, but who knows? And won't it be fun to watch the freepers tie their little heads in knots trying to argue that the Second Amendment applies only to them?"

But we're not gonna argue that, are we? If even the most liberal of the liberals are starting to think this way, I'm hoping the 2nd will soon no longer be contested. All I'm waiting for now is for the ACLU to start giving away a free gun with each membership!

Looks like the DUmmies and other liberal commie'rats are suddenly "getting religion" about the 2nd Amd and their RKBA!

Or is this a "gallows conversion?"

)PS: I find their references to "Jesusland" disgusting.

With this second "stolen" election, they also want to end vote fraud.

See, we can find common ground!

That's great. I'll put that first on my list of issues I wouldn't mind working with them on! (So far, there is no number 2)

I said several times that their holier-than-thou distaste for firearms would be quickly cast aside when they chose to use those firearms against one of us.

I doubt seriously that any freepers would argue that the 2nd applies only to us. The right to self-defense is a God given right. The right to arms applies to all free men.

I would only counsel my left-wing brothers on one point -- buying a piano does not make you Tori Amos. Buying a canvas and paint does not make you Picasso. You have to practice and train. Going out at 30 an buying your first gun puts you at a serious disadvantage to the millions of us that grew up with marksmanship training from a very young age. You will have to work especially hard to gain the skills and learn the ranges of responsibilities inherent in firearms ownership. And once you have done that, once you have truly accepted responsibility for your life, your safety, and the lives and safety of your loved ones, there is a good chance you will no longer be a liberal.

Those darn little Liberals- they're so cute when they get angry...

But they had better be careful following that line of reasoning- pretty soon, it will lead them to the First Amendment and then to all the others... the Constitution, the reasons why America isn't a Democracy... and pretty soon, they won't be liberal anymore!

This thread has just added to the FreeRepublic "bang list" (firearms interest list) by adding the keyword "banglist".

Any time a firearms-related thread is created on FreeRepublic, please be sure to add the "banglist" keyword to it so that interested FReepers don't miss it.

...You mean we can't round them up? The camps I envisioned for these loons would have been staffed by psychiatrists, not guards.

They will finally be adults too.

The only downside for them is that they will see DU as the cesspool that is truly is.

Hey DUmmies...it's your politicians that want to ban guns.

Banning guns addresses a fundamental right of all Americans to feel safe. - Sen. Dianne Feinstein quoted by AP on Nov. 18, 1993

"If I could have gotten 51 votes in the Senate of the United States for an out right ban, picking up every one of them... "Mr. and Mrs. America, turn 'em all in, "I would have done it. I could not do that. The votes weren't here." --U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), CBS-TV's "60 Minutes," 2/5/95

Banning guns is an idea whose time has come. - U.S. Sen. Joseph Biden, then-chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, in an interview with AP on November 18, 1993.

We're here to tell the NRA their nightmare is true! ... We're going to hammer guns on the anvil of relentless legislative strategy. We're going to beat guns into submission! - Rep. Charles Schumer on NBC Nightly News Nov. 30, 1993.

Actuaaly a very small minority ober there have had the right outlook all along.

And the average DUer doesn't understand them either. The usual argument is "I'm right becuase i'm untainted by any knowledge of guns" (or 'gun porn' as it's known over there).

Recent case; post AWB sunset gun banner put up some pictures of ugly guns and asked "should these kind of guns be legal for any given person to own?"

It was then pointed out that those guns just look scary, any deer hunting rifle has more power.

Provoked the following exchange

hunting rifles were designed to kill deer. the m16 in the pic is designed explicitly for killing "the enemy".

M16? I don't see any M16's up there.

..ar15. whatever you want to call it.

That's not an AR-15 either.

what is it, then?

It is an automatic M4 Carbine with M203 grenade launcher Which requires TWO NFA tax stamps to own legally.

So, because their candidate/party lost, we no longer live in a democracy? The candidate they opposed wins, and yet they think they should take up arms because their minority view is "the will of the people"? Typically intolerant radicals. Same reaction from their leftwing predecessors after the 1964 landslide in favor of LBJ, who then got the Tonkin Gulf Resolution passed 98-2. :') Responsible use of firearms is not what the DUmmies have in mind.

They come to the right idea on the Second Amendment for the wrong reasons... lol

On the contrary. "To repel tyranny in government" is exactly the right reason. The thing is, if Bush were as bad as they think he is, he could ban gun sales to 'rats tomorrow, and most of them would be caught unarmed. And all we Freepers could then say would be, "we tried to tell you for the last, oh, ah, about, um, 213 years. But you didn't listen - you called us 'extremists' and 'wingnuts' and tried to ban militarily useful guns, all semi autos, all handguns, all centerfire rifle cartridges, .50 cal rifles, AP and other specialty ammo, and a host of other things that you probably now wish not only weren't banned, but which you now owned quantities of, but cannot, because Bush just banned them from being sold to registered 'rats. Pity."
