The Catholic church does a pretty good job of defiling itself, if you ask me (a Catholic).

On a trip to Italy a friend who lives in Rome explained Catholic relics to me. As I recall, a first order relic would be a piece of the true cross, his robe, the shroud of Turin, etc. A second order relic would be something associated with Mary. A church in Rome supposedly has some of Mary's breast milk in a reliquary.

Third order relics are objects that have been touched or in close proximity to first order relics. They tend to abound in Italy.

I'm surprised I read through the first 100 posts and found no mention of AA. They also did a pretty good number on Alcoholics Anonymous and there doesn't seem to be anyone complaining.

I don't watch the thing, so don't bring up other episodes.

Did you watch this one, or should we not bring up this episode either? Maybe that's why you're unable to explain how the Virgin Mary was insulted ... you don't know what you're talking about.

I don't watch the thing

Then what's the problem? Just continue not watching.

I think South Park's funniest "Jewish" episode was from the very first season

The first Christmas episode was great. When Kyle sang "I'm a Jew, a lonely Jew, at Christmas."

Cartman: "Hey Kyle, Jews can't eat Christmas snow."
Kyle: "Office Barbrady, is it illegal for Jews to eat Christmas snow?"
Officer Barbrady: "Yes!"
Kyle: "Dammit!"

What about signing your name on an American flag?

This is a predictable thread.

Some folks cant tell the difference between a cartoon and reality, nor can they stand it when the South Park crew aims in their direction, when all other directions are just fine with them.

The episode was hilarious, as are almost all the other episodes of South Park, the only difference being how secure (or not) some are about their own beliefs.

What about burning an American flag?

What about the price of beans in China?

OK, so do you think it's possible for statues to weep?

Did the Catholic League post a fatwa against SP for 'The Passion of the Jew' like this episode? I cannot find any outrage like this episode.

For those who don't know, that was an episode making fun of 'The Passion of the Christ'. I believe it was nominated for an Emmy.

If someone were to pee on your mother's picture--in public--would you not think that an insult to your mother?

OK - I'll try to play. If a segment of the population flocked to see this happen, because they thought seeing it and touching it would cure them of disease... then yes, Matt and Trey could probably make ~them~ funny....

If my mom was worshiped like this bleeding statue, then she would be the first to pull a prank on the 'worshipers'. She would probably start pouring syrup on people's heads and saying it is miracle juice.

But the "only Mormons go to Heaven" was part of the "Saddam dies" episode, which was *years* ago

I think it's sacrilegious to attribute mystical powers to inanimate objects.

That's what pagans do, as I have already said.
