Happy 3rd Anniversary Dragonflies' Lair and Poets
Our Poets
bentfeather fatima Hope and Glory Knitting A Conundrum Lady Jag Liberty Belt NicknamedBob Reaper Freeper Scubie Nuc starbase Texas Songwriter WayzataJohnn
We the poets of the Lair, thank all who support us.
We hope to be here a long time, singing our songs riding the stars, writing our own visions, and best of all, loving all who continue to lurk and visit here over the years.
We write of love, we write of war, we write of sorrow, we write of Knights and Kingdoms from before, we write of drawing down the moon, scarlet robes, and gossamer, kismet, serendipity, serenity, and days of grace, filled with woodsy space ancestors wrinkled ragged and bold horror stories from our own past hauntings from the bog with screaming banshee voices on the wind and of the wind loud and sassy tinkling brass, silvered nights with star strewn paths. We write songs of happiness, songs of grief songs of anger and relief.
Our poets take pictures along their walk post them here for all of us to gawk and ohh and aw about the mystery of another land.
With all of life's hard times, pushes and shoves we poets remain above the fray to write in the sunlight of another new day, and take a chance on a little romance in The Land of Glen Gaul Way. And know that in the dead of night, WayzataJohnn will be stopping by to steam up the Lair with a senusous poem, or tell a hair raising tale from his life as an Navy Vet, a Cowboy, a Husband, and best of all a very good friend of all of us here.

Happy Anniversary Ms. Feather!
A Birthday
by Christina Georgina Rossetti
My heart is like a singing bird
Whose nest is in a water'd shoot;
My heart is like an apple-tree
Whose boughs are bent with thickset fruit;
My heart is like a rainbow shell
That paddles in a halcyon sea;
My heart is gladder than all these
Because my love is come to me.
Raise me a dais of silk and down;
Hang it with vair and purple dyes;
Carve it in doves and pomegranates,
And peacocks with a hundred eyes;
Work it in gold and silver grapes,
In leaves and silver fleurs-de-lys;
Because the birthday of my life
Is come, my love is come to me.

Ancient Ritual
Soft she spoke and power grew to fill the glen and all who were there. Life streamed into us all, and we knew the quickening of life to her. Streams of lights flowed to her from around her in the growing night.
She pulsed with power and glowed with a stars own light, a cold fire. It was then she moved into the ancient steps and danced under stars of night. Her power flowed out to each and all and we danced with her in passions grip.
Faster we swung around the glen to music only we could hear and deep the change began. Swifter now the movements came and swifter still our inner fire flared into the night. Soft the love, and hot the touch, and sweet the moments as life infused us with her.
These three stanzas selected from the poem Ancient Ritual Author, WayzataJohnn
The Power of Glen Gaul Way bentfeather
She knew of the power in the glen, the magic rituals held way back when, under a carpet of stars at night the wizard of the glen held tight the orb of power o'er his head and mumbled words of chanting said, she be the Queen of Glen Gaul Way from this day on to forever stay her heart be pure, her love be steadfast no other bother wink his eye she's the heart of the Dragonfly. She cannot see, but only one. This was the spell he cast on her blinded to the outer world.

Glen Gaul Way, her kingdom come filled with treasures bequeathed to her by the Ancient Ritual held long before she was the quick She'll rule alone 'twas said of her if the fortune goes that way she holds her power to this day.
The spell was cast, she fell asleep no creeping heard around her feet the silence fell upon the land the mist held thick to cover the ivied walls no one knew of the land at all.

Ice descended on the land a crystal palace in a crystal land, the roses turned to ice that day the Dragonfly went away. His warmth no longer felt the castle cold and rent slowly the spell held all there frozen to the task held at hand each grotesque position a comedic scene cooks plucking a chickens for the grand hall meal the baker bending to load the oven with loaves of bread comic sconces frozen in time and space.
The stables lay in stillness no whinnies, brays, or clucking from the foul the old crones tongues not clicking frozen to their palate. The gossip silenced for a time, their cursing frozen in the air.
The Fairy Mother Spirit

The Spirit of the Fairy Air looked on in dismay the Queen of Glen Gaul Way in a trance her power held in rein, by evil deeds a spell cast on ominous winds from the Castle of the Wren. The jealous lover of the Dragonfly. Passion on her blue black lips desire swinging from her full hips venom dripping from her eyes for she despised all good in the Queen of Glen Gaul Way. The Fairy Mother Spirit heard the grief on the land. She moved around to witness the stillness of the glen a worried look crossed her brow, her saddened heart weeping now.

The Wren whose evil heart hated all that is good and light, works her evil by the night Jaded in her lust of him the Dragonfly left the land his Queen of Glen Gaul Way the Grand. He'd bid his time in another land. searching for the answers to the hex placed upon her graciousness, his Queen, his love, his other hand.
Magic Merlin an old friend helped Spirit Mother to bring to an end the spell put upon the land of Glen Gaul Way. Whispering words to the winds Spirit Mother flew again. Over the frozen lands she soared> In the forests in the glens her butterfly dust filtered down, thawing all the castle grounds.
 In the forest lay a waif child sound asleep. Fairy Mother Spirit gathered up this little waif brought him to the garden gate, she told the awakened keeper to take this child to the Queen. The Queen awoke to find this waif child in chambers dark she held her breathe and did impart a sigh that would be heard around the castle grounds for years. For in the child she had found the Dragonfly unbound and free to ride with her along his side.

Going well thanks. How's your dad doing these days?? You still get to the lake with the dog??
To: bentfeather
Well, Chuck does some gardening and plays a little golf. Everyonce in awhile we take Bo out to the lake. I think the last time we did was last week.
We had some much needed rain move through the area last night. Some places got about a quater to half an inch.
There were some t-storm warnings issued for some counties. Also, some minor street flooding in and around OKC.

We're in for some rains. Yesterday was gloomy all day, overcast skies. This morning it is raining and it's going to do so for several days.
Our temps are down and life is more comfortable.

Flying high
in a cobalt sky
dazzling dragonfly.
Free at last
leaving earth and past
in jet streams blast.
Round the globe
his tentacles probe
seeking celestial abodes.
