Good morning gardeners! It is finally warming up a just a bit and almost time for me to get the tiller out. I will keep my in ground garden the same size as it was last year but I have started some seed potatoes in containers and may do more in containers this year. My pear trees are budding and two already are starting to bloom. I hope my figs trees do better than they did last year.
A couple of Freepers have alerted me to two articles that all of you may find interesting so I have linked to the stories below the Banner.

Texas sweet onion sets went into one of my raised beds a couple of days ago. Just got some red raspberry plants to set out. Finally, some sun here today, too. YEE-HAW!
Did some tilling the other day. Snow forecast for the weekend but I’m ready to start some seeds now and should be doing some early planting within the next couple of weeks.
Seedlings are sprouting in an aquarium under grow lights. Seeds are in hand for the garden opening tomorrow and we will probably buy a few transplants next weekend. I should have grown, growing and sprouting all in the raised bed by next weekend for the cool to summer crops.
Tomorrow is work day for all the gardeners as part of opening. Composting spreading, turning and a class on composting as well as some other work for border planting, more compost bins for horse manure from the adjacent equestrian center, berry planting.
And in the 70s! Yes.
And, add me !

going to go out & play in the dirt for awhile today.. YEA!
the snow is gone & temps in 50s!
Hi Red Devil. Got three types of tomatoes seeding. Planting a dozen or so bib lettuce today. Will plant squash and cow pea seeds in a week following the new moon. It has been an unusually cold winter here in Central Florida but maybe a mild spring won’t burn the lettuce. Had a whopper of a sweet onion and scallion crop though. A month of frost (February) didn’t affect them at all. We are still pulling onions for cooking and salad.
See you next week! Love your pics.
Temperatures are warming up here and several neighbors were out fixing up their gardens yesterday. I helped one by weeding out a small section of the plot. Hopefully, they will let me have a small patch of the plot so I can plant more veggies. Living in an apartment gives almost no gardening space and can plant mostly flowers where I live. Have purchased some romaine and got them planted in the planters. There are lots of seedlings coming up in the planters. When they get bigger can figure out just what they are. Going to start pear tomato seeds and basil in the house under growlights. Also starting Green Envy Zinnia. It is chartruese colored and quite unique. It is never found in nurseries so have to start it from seeds.
It will be in the low 70's here in Centeral Mississippi today.
I do hope you get a small spot in their garden! That would be nice.
Still too cold and wet in my area...however, I’m going to my favorite Garden Center today for my Cabbage, Broci, Brussel Sprouts and a few seed for future.
Have purchased seed potatoes, got them early $10.00 bushel. A local Farm Supply is charging $19.00 per. bu. I never buy there and, I hate it for local people having to pay this outrages price.
What kind of potatoes did you buy?
Mornin’ all!
Sunny and 70 here today! Woohoo! Rained ALL day yest so we got a lot done in the greenhouse. Not going to get anything done today. EVERYONE is ready for some warm sunny weather and they all want to plant gardens RIGHT NOW! LOL
Y’all have a great day!
70’s all week here in Central VA (almost 80 on Saturday). First thing coming up so far is sweet peas (as usual). I’ve got 10 stacks of tires started for my spuds, gonna do 5 more for the sweet potatoes. Got a bunch of stuff started indoors, will start setting them out in another couple of weeks.
