Have they checked this guy for Alzheimer’s? Seems like that might be the case. SOME elderly can be just mean though.

“SOME elderly can be just mean though.”
People at that age tend to be emotionally volatile, since they often don’t care what others think of them anymore. I think the guy who shot up the Holocaust Memorial (James von Brunn) is a classic example. He probably was consumed with rage for years and finally exploded at the age of 87 when he figured that he didn’t have that much time left. Von Brunn’s own son admitted that he had always been a miserable SOB.
Others like Jimmy Carter don’t vent their anger with a gun; they just become progressively more nasty in their public statements as they get old.

REALLY???? Common sense has taken a vacation... handcuffing elderly and treating them as THREATS??? Completely over the top... disgusting.

Another good example right there. I was going to mention her in my earlier post, but forgot.
Heck, George Carlin turned into an angry old man his last years, too (and he was only 71 when he died). When he did stand-up routines, he would just attack anyone and anything and not care what others thought. Not that he ever had too many qualms about offending people, but he got a lot worse towards the end.

In the case of James von Brunn, I’d say he was very much of a threat.

How many times did the officer have to taser him to get his cane away?

An old prospector shuffled into town leading an old tired mule.
The old man headed straight for the only saloon to clear his parched throat.
He walked up and tied his old mule to the hitch rail. As he stood there, brushing some of the dust from his face and clothes, a young gunslinger stepped out of the saloon with a gun in one hand and a bottle of whiskey in the other.
The young gunslinger looked at the old man and laughed, saying, Hey old man, have you ever danced?
The old man looked up at the gunslinger and said, No, I never did dance
never really wanted to.
A crowd had gathered as the gunslinger grinned and said, Well, you old fool, youre gonna dance now, and started shooting at the old mans feet.
The old prospector not wanting to get a toe blown off started hopping around like a flea on a hot skillet. Everybody was laughing, fit to be tied.
When his last bullet had been fired, the young gunslinger, still laughing, holstered his gun and turned around to go back into the saloon.
The old man turned to his pack mule, pulled out a double-barreled shotgun, and cocked both hammers.
The loud clicks carried clearly through the desert air. The crowd stopped laughing immediately.
The young gunslinger heard the sounds too, and he turned around very slowly. The silence was almost deafening.
The crowd watched as the young gunman stared at the old timer and the large gaping holes of those twin barrels.
The barrels of the shotgun never wavered in the old mans hands, as he quietly said, Son, have you ever licked a mules ass?
The gunslinger swallowed hard and said, No sir
but Ive always wanted to.
There are a few lessons for us all here:
Never be arrogant.
Dont waste ammunition.
Whiskey makes you think youre smarter than you are.
Always, always make sure you know who has the power.
Dont mess with old men; they didnt get old by being stupid.
Too old to take an a** whippin' so he'll just kill ya.

If the old timer screamed louder outside, then he didn’t “scream as loud as he could” inside. The writer is a nitwit as well as the deputy.

George C was ‘kinda’ funny for a while - in the end he just came across like a bitter old man - angery at everything and everybody.
Had to imagine going thru life like that....

I know that there's an opportunity for some silly joke, but I can't think of any at this time...I'm very tired and it's too poorly worded for me right now. The multiple pronouns are too confusing to me:
As the deputy grabbed his(the suspect's right vs left) arm and placed him the suspect in handcuffs, he (Name of officer) reported the suspect put the cane in his other (Right vs left) hand and began hitting him in the leg with the cane while yelling and cursing.
"In handcuffs" isn't right, either, I don't think... Maybe later....or...not...

...found the man yelling and cursing as loudly as he could at the office manager, according to the report. The deputy reported he told the man to stop several times, but he refused. The office manager told the deputy she wanted the man removed from the premises and that he had been an ongoing problem for the business. Once outside, the deputy reported the elderly man started yelling at him and cursing louder than he did inside. The deputy then told the man he would be arrested if he did not leave the property and the elderly man struck him in the stomach with his cane.
Glad I'm not a police officer, particularly that one.

In an off-the-cuff remark, the deputy said that the actions by the elderly man were hard to stomach.
This version is different than the pronoun challenged-hit-the deputy-in-the-leg dealie above.
Have a good day!

Very good!
I had a boss in a restaurant who was hit by an old lady with a cane. Reason? No ketchup packets if I recall. I believe she was there after going to church. He was a good sport about it. That’s an American gentleman.

He was at an Obama-clinic. See how great health-scare is now?
