But what was with the helmet hair? I know, Romney’s hair is as bad, but geez.

“I’m a Cain supporter. Not sure what your complaint is, other than I don’t bow down at the throne de Palin.”

Before you head to your own throne room, be sure and try to find some endorsements, articles, etc. that show Cain has a chance - for your reading enjoyment. It might be a strain though.

I tuned in for the last 15-to-20 minutes. It seemed that Huntsman got more time than others (Santorum, Paul, Gingrich and Cain especially). Was the time spread near equally or was there an imbalance the entire debate?

"No. She skipped the MSNBC freak show where the liberal "moderators" did their best to make it a Perry-Romney two-man race. "

...and if Palin was in it they would made her target #1 and been asking her idiocies about Levi Johnskunk or whatever his "family" name is.

Any candidate that thinks they can swoop in unvetted

UNVETTED????????????

You may be the only person in the history of FreeRepublic who has ever referred to Sarah Palin as "unvetted".

The American public knows more about Sarah Palin's person, her politics, and her policies than any leader in American History. We know more about her than we knew about George Washington when he ran and Abe Lincoln when HE ran.

To be honest, Newt is one intelligent man. Not electable, but would serve the country well in a cabinet post. Plus, I loved the way he shot back at Brian Williams about the media trying to protect Obama.

Romney is always well spoken, but Perry generates excitement and will be the nominee — and deserves to be.

Ron Paul says a lot of things I agree with, but always seems to end up lookin a bit naive — as does Santorum.

Bachmann has her answers so well rehearsed she can’t make mistakes, but gets rather boring. Cain speaks well and decisively, but is a bit too simplistic IMHO.

Huntsman. Forget about it.

Romney was too rigid for me. The “I have a plan” crap sucks.

Newt was the best with the answers, but we all know it’s too late for him. He should have ran in 2000 or something.

Yes, Ron Paul was good. But his kook factor is annoying.

Hunstman is a lib. A total sound bite candidate. He said “98 of 100 climate scientist agree...” and no one called him on that LIE.

Cain was okay but won’t get the nomination.

Perry was a little too statist sometimes.

If I have to choose a “winner”, I pick Perry, then Newt.

Newt - as always the best debater, and he won again tonight. I’d like to see every candidate debate Newt one on one. Would make them all better debaters and candidates.

Perry - Social Security is a Ponzi scheme, and I respect him for going against so-called conventional wisdom - from global warming to the death penalty. Voters need to hear his views of how America once believed. He was also the only one to call Obama an abject liar.

Romney - gives off a reassuring aura of competence despite his slickness

Bachmann - Held her ground and is excellent in getting her points in succinctly. . Wasn’t her fault that media wanted a Romney-Perry cat fight.

Cain - I really really like Cain. Debates do not bring out the best of Cain as he is a phenomenal speaker. He needs more time to explain his positions and business model.

Santorum - never given adequate time - a good man but media will not let him gain ground.

Paul - Love his libertarianism and anti-federalism, but the problem with Ron Paul is that he is Ron Paul.

That last guy at the end - oh yeah Huntsman who ? Yeah right, “98 out of 100 climatologists agree . . . . “

I do think Palin was a big winner too in that her waiting game allows everyone to get as bruised as she has been bruised. She will totally energize the race.

Laura Ingraham is BORs’s regular backup now. If you're going to be a regular on FNC you can't be a conservative, except for ‘Harmless Sean,’ who couldn't logically defend conservatism if his life depended on it.

Perry - The Gardasil question really hurt Perry in this debate. He had to know it was coming and came across unprepared. His answers on SS and AGW were also a bit muddled. He needs better prep - and granted was busy with the wildfires the past few days. All in all, a bit disappointing.

Gingrich - needs more facetime and probably the best debater out there. I want to hear more about what he would do. A good night for him.

Romney - Did a good job overall tonight and probably relieved that Perry was tonight's pinata. The RomneyCare thing weakens his position significantly though.

Cain - Much more polished tonight. Really interested in the 9-9-9 plan. Here's a guy with some great ideas. If he doesn't win the nomination, he needs a Cabinet Post.

Bachmann - Overall a bit weak. Too monotone and she has to oversell her experience. The best attacks on Obama are that the guy is clueless. Not sure she can drive that argument home. Want to like her more, but...

Santorum - Really? He can afford to still be in the race?

Paul - just rambles too much when given one minute to explain himself. His fences "keeping us in" while may be true, will come across as paranoia.

Huntsman - The liberal Republicrat. The AGW just kills him in any Primary.

Bottom line: Perry holds serve just barely. Romney up a tick or two from before. Cain should see a bump as should Newt. Bachmann should begin to fade (I do like her). Paul will hang in there due to his rabid supporters. Santorum and Huntsman go to Pawlentyville soon. And Palin will be in before the next debate. Could also see Bolton jump in.

“Only the honest would admit that, all others with their pet candidates would never go there.”

Well, that makes three of us.

BTW panax, how well does ginseng and xanax go together?

Huntsman had his “Pawlenty” moment tonight. Said very nasty things about the other candidates, but backed off when called on about it.

Made him look two-faced. He should have deflected by saying he sometimes gets passionate and maybe went to far, and “I apologize for that, but let’s get back to the issues.”

And, BTW, why didn’t Fox News have a post debate forum? I know it was on MSNBC but they had regular programming.

Figured there would at least be an after debate Hannity program.

Perry missed a great opportunity to slam Brian Williams when, after defending the death penalty in Texas, when he said, “after 237 executions their is applause. What do you say?”

Perry could have said something like “well Brian, I don’t expect some NY liberal whiner like you to understand”.

I wan’t to see a candidate take on the LSM with their stupid questions as well as explaining their position. Doesn’t hurt to give them a dig or two.

We, as Republicans, have to ditch the scorched earth/take the ball and go home attitude that seems to crop up. You want your guy/gal to win, but be prepared that your guy/gal won’t, and be prepared to accept someone else.

Fair statement. However, we owe it to our country, to ourselves, and to our future generations, to fight like hell to NOT let the corrupt MSM and corrupt establishment of both parties dictate who our candidate will be.
