What TWO glasses of wine a day can do to your face in ten years
DailyMail ^ | 20th October 2011 | ANNA MAGEE

Despite the warnings, I never used to worry too much that my lifestyle might one day show on my face. After all, there was always make-up, moisturiser, even a touch of Botox as the years advanced. Surely my guilty habits couldn’t make that much difference to my looks, could they?

And what habits would those be? Well, like most women, I crave chocolate and have been known to scoff three bars of Galaxy in one go if I desperately need a sugar fix. I smoked in my 20s and, although I officially quit at 30, I still succumb to the odd puff after a night on the merlot.

But now, at the age of 42, a fascinating experiment has made me rethink the whole way I live. For I have seen the future of my face. Or, rather, I have been given a glimpse of how it would look in ten years if I continue to ply my body with alcohol and excess sugar, or take up smoking again. The results were not a pretty sight and will serve as a stark warning to women who regularly enjoy a couple of glasses of wine a night or the odd sugary doughnut, and think it won’t do them any harm.

What a bunch of BS. A couple of glasses of red wine a day will keep you healthy and improve your attitude. LOL!

Reminds me of the 50 year old (we'll call him Jack) that goes to the doctor for a physical. The doctor scolded Jack and said "that's it, no more scotch, no more cigars, no more late night TV because you need more sleep and no more womanizing."

Jack started to see the light and asked the doctor: "Will I live longer?"

The doctor replied: "No, but it will feel like an eternity."

A glass or two of wine (or other alcoholic drink) is good for your circulation.

Now, a bottle or two a night is a different story. Reference the above pics of Amy Winehouse.

When my granfather was in his 70s, his cardiologist told him to give up his nightly glass of Scotch. Grandpa's answer? He fired the doc, and continued to happily drink his scotch to the ripe old age of 87.

Pure BS and I’m not buying it.

I’ve been to Italy. I’ve seen 50 year old Italian women in milan who drank wine with every meal, and they don’t look anything like her idiotic photoshop. In fact they look more healthy than American women the same age.

Don’t buy this crap.

Looks to me more like a rosacea redness.

I thought so too. :)

**Alcohol doesn’t cause rosacea, but it can trigger flare-ups, and red wine is the worst culprit.** according to WebMD. http://www.webmd.com/skin-problems-and-treatments/news/20040218/link-between-rosacea-alcohol

I'll raise one to your Grandpa tonight...bless him! A 16 y/o single malt. :)

I have rosacea and I don’t drink more than a glass or two of wine a couple of times a year - - and I’ve had it since I was in my mid 30’s.

This picture is garbage and promotes judgementalism towards an illness.

:-) He'd appreciate that.

Though, he'd say "While I enjoy it, an expensive single-malt is just wasted on me because I can't properly appreciate it."

Johnny Walker or J&B was his preference.

Me on the other hand.... I can appreciate Walker or J&B, but I prefer single malt. To me, the difference between cheap vodka or gin, and expensive vodka or gin is just snob appeal. BUT, the difference between say, a $10 bottle of Scotch and a $40 bottle is the difference between shooting a bullet and throwing it. :-)

Here, we like Lagavulin ....it's buttery rich taste [I admit it's an acquired taste to get used to the peat] can't be beat, after a big meal, like tonight Beef Stroganoff. We'll toast Grandpa when we have dessert...a fresh apple crisp.

When I drank more Scotch than I do now, my *anyday* hit was a nice JW Black Label. I love your price point analogy! Here's to you and Gramps. ;)

She’s dead, Daffy. A better illustration might be the ‘transformation’ of Mad donna.

Or any number of those transformation images of drug addicts and how addiction takes its toll on a face. Do you think Ms. Winehouse had a death wish?
