It's at the forefront of the war on terror - and now it's declaring war on another menace: turkey fryers. The Department of Homeland Security has issued a timely pre-Thanksgiving warning on the dangers of the large deep fat fryers.
On the official DHS Twitter it asks: 'How dangerous can turkey fryers be?'

Stop interfering with those who care about our security while they are guaranteeing it.
We drones need this service to keep us content!
Been doing this for years.
Don’t over fill the pot....just enough to cover the bird.
Make sure the bird is well thawed and as dry as possible.
“Bull” Napolitano overreaches yet again.
See something, say something.
I fear deep fat government much more.
Very much agree with you there....
The Code Red warning should be for the deep fat in DC!
WHAT THE HELL DOES TURKEY FRYERS HAVE TO DO WITH HOMELAND SECURITY? Don’t we already have the turkey fryer cable channel? Napolitano is an idiot.
Thats how fires start too. Been there.....seen that done... put that fire out more than once.
Thats how fires start too. Been there.....seen that done... put that fire out more than once.
This is pure f’ing stupidity.
What the hell does this have to do with the mission of homeland security?
I see a headline that says “Code red: Department of Homeland Security warns of deadly threat “
And I find out it is because the STUPID IDIOTIC FOOLS at DHS are warning us about a freakin’ TURKEY FRYER?
Have any of these IDIOTS ever read the story of the boy who cried wolf?
We should disband DHS and fire the whole lot of them if this is what they are going to do.
And another thing: Perhaps you can get the Mods to append (Turkey Fryers?) to the headline so others are not alarmed by it?
Damn, I was imagining legions of suicide turkey fryer bombers invading the Homeland. Thank goodness for Homeland Security saving our bacon ... oops, I mean saving our Homeland turkeys!
Perhaps after the Dems gut the military, the generals can stock up on these lethal turkey fryers when Walmart has them on sale.
I just read an article about Red Wing shoe company regarding taxes, cost of operations, etc.
In the article it said they use to keep the doors open at the factory for ventilation. Homeland Security (!!??) told them they needed to keep the doors closed and locked.
So they had to spend $750,000 on air-conditioning that they didn’t want or need! (Well, with the doors open they didn’t need it).
Oh - the “improvements” increased their property taxes too.
We need to fry some turkeys in D.C. Where’s Old Sparky?
I like your tag line...
Posted in chat...nonserious...breath....yes, unfortunately this was your tax dollar at work...
...but breath,....
Oh and at least I didn’t make you click all the way through to find it was turkey fryers. LOL
Where in their job code does it mention the proper way to cook a turkey? That’s Martha’s job. Once again, our government is not doing what they were hired to do.
