You think Seattles weather is bad lately? Check out what just happened on Saturn.
The gas giants northern atmosphere was host to a huge storm for 200 days, an all-time record for the-usually stormy planet. The previous record holder: a 1903 storm raged on Saturn for 150 days.
Duration aside, researchers say this storm is the largest Saturn has seen since 1990.
The storm started out small last year but had grown to circle the entire planet by January of 2011, according to Space.com. Huge storms like these are called Great White Spots, and Saturn tends to get one every couple of decades.

That is about the best explanation of a planet’s rotation I have ever read. Thanks.

He’s a busy guy, probably the holidays are even busier.
Hi TOL. Nice of you to think of me. I have been busy. Insanely busy. But this last couple of days was more relaxed. I got to sit yesterday most of the day. You know, for that 600 mile round trip drive to pick up the daughter in Boise.
And the motherboard in my computer fried. So it has been in the shop.
Hey Civ, my folks were doing some research down at the LDS genealogy library and my mom found a recipe for making ink on a page from 1882. It says the recipe is “circa 1619”. I was going to scan it last night, but my printer is out of ink and apparently it won’t let me scan a recipe for ink since it is out. Bit hard to decipher but interesting if you are interested. To me, a little gem.
I think I may have a touch of arsenic type poisoning. I’ll tell ya’ll if you want.
Arsenic... from CCA lumber?
The ink recipe sounds interesting, and it’s amusing and ironic that the printer wouldn’t scan an ink recipe. :’) Probably has as its primary ingredient “lamp black”.
When the motherboard fries, it earns a couple more syllables. ;’)
Glad you had a safe trip, other than the arsenic.
The boss went down to Trestlewood and picked up a couple of pieces for a custom bar top. He told me I should be able to easy get 79” length. I said that’s great. The raised panel wainscot I just built for it to sit on is 91”. He said Oh. So we went out back and dragged in a couple of leftover 4” x 12” x 12’ stuff and I went to town. Yeah. CCA.
Trestlewood is literally that. They have scavenged a big yard full of reclaimed old trestles. High dollar and nonreturnable.
This cabinet job is going in a $4 million dollar house up in the Yellowstone Club in Big Sky.
As an aside we fill knotholes with Bondo colored with lampblack.
I should have a camera handy for some of the stuff I do. I don’t get a chance to get any after it leaves the shop.
The main way that’s absorbed is inhalation, but I’m sure you knew that.
Right now I’m trying to get my mind around the idea of a $4 million house...
For that kind of money, the bathrooms had better have automatic ass-wipers.
Automated squirt guns.
