Intestine crucial to function of immune cells, research shows (MS? RA?)
University of Toronto ^ | December 12, 2011

TORONTO, Canada—Researchers at the University of Toronto have found an explanation for how the intestinal tract influences a key component of the immune system to prevent infection, offering a potential clue to the cause of autoimmune disorders like rheumatoid arthritis and multiple sclerosis.

"The findings shed light on the complex balance between beneficial and harmful bacteria in the gut," said Prof. Jennifer Gommerman, an Associate Professor in the Department of Immunology at U of T, whose findings were published online by the scientific journal, Nature. "There has been a long-standing mystery of how certain cells can differentiate between and attack harmful bacteria in the intestine without damaging beneficial bacteria and other necessary cells. Our research is working to solve it."

The researchers found that some B cells—a type of white blood cell that produces antibodies—acquire functions that allow them to neutralize pathogens only while spending time in the gut. Moreover, this subset of B cells is critical to health.

"When we got rid of that B-cell function, the host was unable to clear a gut pathogen and there were other negative outcomes, so it appears to be very important for the cells to adopt this function in the gut," said Prof. Gommerman, whose lab conducted the research in mice.

Textbook immunology—based mostly on research done in the spleen, lymph nodes or other sterile sites distant from gut microbes—has suggested that B cells develop a specific immune function and rigidly maintain that identity. Over the last few years, however, some labs have shown the microbe-rich environment of the gut can induce flexibility in immune cell identity.

Leaky gut syndrome is related condition that can cause autoimmune disorders like RA too.

I've found that long-term fasting helps my arthritis a lot, but it comes back when I start eating again.

Think ya don’t have PARASITES? I mean..you don’t do drugs, and you don’t vacation in Mexido, right?

Same as me. But apparently I DID have parasites:

I dissolved black walnut hull, common cloves, and wormwood in vodka. These materials all together cost maybe $30. Let it soak about 5 days & filter.

Drink maybe 1 or 2 mL of that liquid daily, and then keep that up for some months. You might get itchy, and you might have skin flaking —scratch or brush it off and shower plenty.

Just keep going —you’re killing your parasites. Just keep it up, and go easy to avoid a “healing crisis” (super itchy, headache, etc).

Your skin will clear and you might end up avoiding some pretty serious diseases, down the road.

No doctor will tell you about this protocol.

1 or 2 mL of the concoction? That is a little less than a 1/2 teaspoon, isn’t it? Is the mixture that strong? Wow!

The tonic is rather strong, indeed.

But the real reason it’s wise to go slowly, especially at first, is that many people commonly have FARRRR more parasites than they suspect —that was true of me, and I lead what I consider a very clean and boring lifestyle.

When the parasites die, they dump toxins into your system, so ironically for as long as 8 or so days it is possible to experience what appears to be a WORSENING of symptoms (sometimes headache, and often flaky, itchy skin).

This is a little like quitting smoking, or doing spring cleaning —i.e. in the beginning things can actually look and seem messier in the beginning stages.

But simply get through that unpleasant hump and you really realllllly will be much more healthy, later on.

People fond of rare or med-rare meats (and sushi) and, strangely, fresh fruits and vegetables are vulnerable.

It’s cheap as heck, and just run that sucker for a couple weeks every couple years and you’ll be SO much more healthy.

They’re finding that a LOT of (lucrative to treat) degenerative diseases are actually caused by fungi, molds, parasites, yeast, etc.

You joke, but there was an article recently about the digestive system having its own brain.

OK. thanks, I give it a try. How much of the three ingredients do you mix initially? What kind of container are they stored it? Sealed? Refrigerated? Shaken once a day, stored in the dark? Need this type guidance.

Yes, it sounds like you are experiencing “healing” crises or Herxheimer reactions. Simply, things get bad in terms of reactions then ease up as your move toward wholeness or homeostasis (balance).

Turmeric, a yellow spice added to curry hampers cell-damaging ability of free radicals. It reduces cigarette smoke’s cancerous threat and when applied directly can help to improve the treatment of skin cancer.

Curcumin, which contains turmeric, eases inflamed tissues, so it greatly helps folks with arthritis, irritable bowel issues, ashtma, and other inflammatory ailments. By stimulating bile secretion in the liver, it improves digestion. Also improves sugar metabolism, opposes cholesterol increases and deters blood clotting. Curcumin is expensive so I take plain old turmeric caps available from WalMart.

As for Cinnamon, a mere teaspoon of cinnamon contains 28 mg of calcium, almost one mg of iron, over a gram of fiber, and quite a lot of vitamins C, K, and manganese? It’s true. It also contains about half a gram of “usable” (non-fiber) carbohydrate.

Health Benefits of Cinnamon
In traditional medicine, cinnamon has been used for digestive ailments such as indigestion, gas and bloating, stomach upset, and diarrhea. More recently, modern medical research has turned its eye on cinnamon and is coming up with some intriguing results. It has a mild anti-inflammatory effect. It also slows the spoiling of food (which is probably related to why it was used as an embalming agent in ancient Egypt), and has anti-fungal properties as well.

In one fun (but unpublished) study, researchers found that sniffing cinnamon resulted in improved brain function -– subjects did better on memory and attention tasks when taking whiffs of cinnamon as opposed to other odors or no odor. However, the potential health benefits of cinnamon that have received the most attention have to do with its effects on blood glucose and cholesterol.

Cinnamon May Improve Type 2 Diabetes and Insulin Resistance
This is the news that is most exciting for people who respond to low-carb diets, since most (or at least a substantial percentage) of us are probably insulin resistant or diabetic. Several studies have shown improved insulin sensitivity and blood glucose control by taking as little as ½ teaspoon of cinnamon per day. Improving insulin resistance can help in weight control as well as decreasing the risk for heart disease, so this has a lot of people interested. Although the results of preliminary studies are somewhat mixed, the majority of the research seems to be pointing in the direction of cinnamon being beneficial. Along with the improvement in blood sugar, these studies have documented improvements in triglycerides, blood pressure, and LDL cholesterol.

Adverse Reactions
In “normal uses” in cooking, cinnamon is unlikely to cause problems in non-allergic people, and up to ½ teaspoon at a time are thought to be safe. People attempting to take more as a supplement should be aware of the following: Most negative reactions are in the form of skin rashes, or irritation to the tissues of the mouth or stomach. Cinnamon has a mild anti-clotting effect in the blood, which could be beneficial. But it is conceivable that too much could cause bleeding problems, especially when combined with medications which “thin the blood,” including aspirin. In traditional medicine, high doses are not given to pregnant women, due to possible stimulating effects on the uterus.

I’ve got a small grove of black walnut trees. By hull do you mean the shell itself or the black stuff that surrounds the shell? If it is he shell, how well do you clean it first?

You are sooooo lucky to have those trees...! Can u PM me your general region in California (if you are there) ?

I have driven around my part of California and have had no luck finding these God-sent trees...

Here are 2 vids that will make the protocol super easy to do:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3cPNn7WyPkk&list=LLwbYlomJ4v6vWOoq-m8SQGQ&index=20&feature=plpp_video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RNzEsWx4qZU&list=LLwbYlomJ4v6vWOoq-m8SQGQ&index=44&feature=plpp_video

That ought to help you a lot.

Basically, you pick the mostly green ones, and peel off the soft stuff on the outside; the actual hard nut will later be “garbage” —it’s this gooey green stuff ya really want. The super gooey completely black ones are soooort of non-useable.

After pulling it off, don’t let it sit around long; like with avacados exposure to oxygen will oxidize the active components quickly.

Have nearby a large jar 1/2 filled with common vodka. Post-harvest (i.e. after you pull off the soft outer part) promptly place the green gooey husk portions SUBMERGED somehow in the vodka; if they float on the vodka surface they’ll touch air and oxydize, and that’s bad.

Secure the jar screw lid, emplace in a dark cupboard, and leave it there for at least 3 weeks —this is the way you make an herbal tincture.

A shocker; go to Whole Foods and behold the price of tiny 35 mL eye-dropper flasks of Black Walnut Husk tincture; $16 for EACH in many cases.

What you just made for $15...? At the volume and concentration you saw in Whole Foods, you could probably sell that for $1,000, if you had a license. What they’re buying in the store is not NEARLY as good as what you’re making.

In fact, if I owned your little orchard I would seriously look into the licensure protocol for selling that over the internet (there are some basic FDA guidelines you must adhere to).

Don’t permit dogs and horses near your trees —these animals are much more sensitive to BW than humans are.

The BW tincture kills MANY parasites and YEAST, like Candida Albicans.

Just take a little at first —maybe 1 mL, to try out.

Even with a pretty clean lifesytle, in the USA you would not BELIEVE how much yeast and fungi we pick up —that stuff REALLLY screws you up, and doctors generally ignore it. The maladies this stuff causes is very lucrative to treat (folks just pop pills to surpress the symptoms).

It is HUGELY curable.

Just keep taking 1 mL or so per day for some months, and you’ll be muuuuuch cleaner.

If you know anywhere near Monterey, Calif where those trees live, then tell me, kay?

I realllly envy you.

Some time look up what Dr. Hulda Clark says about your trees.
