Explanation: After wandering about as far from the Sun on the sky as Venus can get, the brilliant evening star crossed paths with the Pleiades star cluster earlier this week. The beautiful conjunction was enjoyed by skygazers around the world. Taken on April 2, this celestial group photo captures the view from Portal, Arizona, USA. Also known as the Seven Sisters, even the brighter naked-eye Pleiades stars are seen to be much fainter than Venus. And while Venus and the sisters do look star-crossed, their spiky appearance is the diffraction pattern caused by multiple leaves in the aperture of the telephoto lens. The last similar conjunction of Venus and Pleiades occurred nearly 8 years ago. As it did then, Venus will again move on to cross paths with the disk of the Sun in June.

WOW! It's been 8 years since the last passing of Venus across the sun? Time flies.

Is it true that everytime this particular astronomical event occurs, within nine months something of terrestrial historical importance happens?

Things of historical importance happen continually. But there’s no connection.
The last sisters I looked at with a telescope were the Anderson sisters and, boy howdy, let me tell you, those were some heavenly bodies.

Later in 2004 one of the worst natural disasters in recorded history hit Southeast Asia, when the strongest earthquake in 40 years hit the entire Indian Ocean region. The massive 9.3 magnitude earthquake, epicentered just off the west coast of the Indonesian island of Sumatra, generateed enormous tsunami waves that crashed into the coastal areas of a number of nations including Thailand, India, Sri Lanka, the Maldives, Malaysia, Myanmar, Bangladesh, and Indonesia. The official death toll in the affected countries stands at 186,983 while more than 40,000 people are still missing.
Coincidence? I think not.
Venus is just as close to the Earth more than once a year; and, at that distance, it has much less tidal influence on the Earth than either the Moon or the more distant Sun — IOW, yes, just a coincidence.

...HOWEVER, in 2004, the last time this happened, two OTHER events of major historical significance ocurred after the astronomical events involving Venus, the Sun, and the Seven Sisters, namely,
1. Texan Lance Armstrong won an unprecedented SIXTH straight
Tour de France, and
2. Texan Dan Rather (although his credentials as such are
frequently challenged) was exposed as a Democrat Party MSM operative in an unprecedented manner.
So, you can expect an unprecented event in the field of sports, and politics, as well a major earthquake later this year. Write that down.
