Report: Warren Sapp files for bankruptcy, has lost Super Bowl ring

Former Bucs defensive lineman Warren Sapp has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in Florida on claims he has racked up millions in debt, TMZ.com reported Friday.

One of the most surprising claims in Sapp's filing is that lost his 2002 Super Bowl ring from the championship with the Bucs and his 1991 national championship ring from the University of Miami, TMZ reported.

The future Hall of Famer owes more than $6.7 million to various creditors, including hundreds of thousands of dollars in child support payments to at least four women, the celebrity news website reported.

He owes $853,000 to the IRS for 2006 and $89,000 for 2010, it said.

Sapp said he also owes $2,858 in medical bills for "corrective speech and language therapy."

The debts outweigh Sapp's $6.45 million in assets, TMZ reported. The assets will be liquidated as a result of his bankruptcy filing.

Sapp, 39, works for the NFL Network as an analyst after playing in the league for 13 seasons with the Bucs, who drafted him 12th overall in 1995, and the Raiders (2004-07).

He said his current salary with the network is $540,000 per season, but his deal expires in August and he is unsure if the network will extend it, TMZ reported.

In the documents, Sapp lists all his assets, which TMZ reported include:

• 240 pairs of Jordan sneakers and sandals

• Large nude women painting

• Lion skin rug (female lioness)

• Nike golf clubs

• De Grisogono watch (scratch on crystal, nicks and scratches on band)

• Boxing glove signed by Muhammad Ali

It was not clear where Sapp, who went to Apopka High in Central Florida, filed for bankruptcy.

My guess is that seventy percent of the guys who spent ten years or more in the NFL....are broke by age 45, and just working for their relatives or lucky to have a job with some high school or college football situation.

The smart guys put their money into some trust fund, and carefully avoided handing out cash left and right to friends. Most are not that much better off than players who played in the 1960s for $12k a year.

This Sapp was not much of a human being, remembering his attacks on Tim Tebow, on ESPN, as over the top I now know what motivated him, he doesn’t like anyone with any kind of moral fiber. What a waste of a person.

“In the documents, Sapp lists all his assets, which TMZ reported include:

Mr. Sapp, we may never find your beloved footwear, but as for the other missing item, you might want to make some discrete inquiries of Monica Lewinsky’s former, ahem, “employer...”

” has lost Super Bowl ring”

Translation: either “has hocked” or “has had stolen” by a member of the sort of entourage these clowns always seem to have.

It is RACIST to hold Eric Holder’s people to the same standards of behavior and responsibility as everyone else, but don’t you DARE say they are inferior.

hundreds of thousands of dollars in child support payments to at least four women. . . .

Sapped him of his essence, these women did.

Warren sowed his seed, and now there are a bunch of little Sapplings.

That's not surprising. He wouldn't want to have to claim them as an asset in the bankruptcy in which his assets will be liquidated. Maybe he'll "find" them later.

One of my most memorable pictures is the one of Warren Sapp sucking oxygen at the end of the 1995 Orange Bowl. He had been mouthing off all night and the Huskers wore him down....he's a blow hard plan and simple...making 500K to give opinions....wow!

Large nude women painting

He's got large nude women painting for him?

I guess they're able to reach the high places better than the small nude women can.

My question is: Is it a "large painting of nude women", or a "painting of large nude women"?

The distinction is important. A large painting of nude women may be worth considerably more -- the classical artists often did such paintings. However, a smaller painting of large women who happen to be nude might be more of a... novelty item.

Depending on how "large" the women are, of course. Unless, as MarineDad pointed out, one of them was named Monica...

"Can that be put on a bankruptcy petition?"

NO any money owed the IRS or Student Loans can not be included in bankruptcy.
