If this doesn't draw the "awwww" out of you then you are dead or a liberal. The fact the kitty is an exact duplicate of my beloved departed Musica makes it even more adorable.

Uhhh, people...dolphins eat meat. They eat small things, like fish squid, maybe a bird or sea otter now and then. What do ya think a cat looks like to a dolphin?

Holy cow, that was my cute fix for today. I watched it twice, LOL. I had a precious cat who looked very much like the one in the video, too.

Well since you pinged me about the French cat video, I thought I would repay the favor with this Cat & Dolphin video.
To: mamelukesabre
I think the dolphin was just curious about the cat. If it wanted to eat the cat, it would be a video about a cat in dolphin.

Probably like nothing he’s ever seen before, which is why he is so curious. Maybe after he had played with it for a while and figured out what it was, he would try to eat it. Predators usually don’t try to eat something they don’t recognize right off the bat, especially when the thing is a fellow predator. That saves humans from a lot of wild animal attacks, since they don’t know where to stick us in their food chain unless they’ve become familiarized with us.

Or the other way around... Maybe the cat is thinking “man... If I can just pull this off, I’ll eat like a king...”

Agreed. It was very dangerous (for the cat) to let that cat play with the Dolphin. The cat could have been a ritz cracker in seconds.

Here is a thought question: it is pretty obvious that the cat and dolphin each perceive the encounter as at least not aggressive, maybe benign. As humans we attribute the observed behavior to the concept of "play."
My question is, how would a cat and a dolphin, two very different species, with no apparent commonality with which to communicate, mutually understand that they are "playing" and not seeing a potential predator or prey in the other?
To: hinckley buzzard
The dolphin is at least as smart as a human. I bet it saw the cat interacting with humans and knew it was a pet.

They each smell fish on their breath.

That cat looks like one of mine. I loved this. I had to call the hubby in to see it.

They why haven't they figured out how to avoid fishing nets?
And why do they frequently beach themselves on beaches only to dry out and die?
