Trash-talking veep’s Tampa tantrum
NY Post ^ | August 23, 2012 | Michael A. Walsh

Posted on 08/24/2012 10:44:37 AM PDT by LucyT

In an electoral season of appalling gutter politics, the Obama campaign is about to test a new bottom. Contrary to tradition — which dictates that Democrats and Republicans respectfully lie low during their rivals’ presidential nominating conventions — Vice President Joe Biden will land in Tampa, Fla., during the Republican convention to try to upstage Mitt Romney’s coronation.

“Are you going to Florida?” Biden joked to reporters...the other day. “I’m going to be the speaker at the convention.”

Such trash talk is typical of the increasingly deracinated veep, whose motor mouth now seems beyond the control of even campaign consigliere David Axelrod’s well-oiled media machine.

But what’s really behind this stunning example of in-your-face poor sportsmanship?

The heckler’s veto, that’s what.

A “heckler’s veto” is an attempt to shout down political speech by preventing its expression; the heckler seeks to silence his foe, marginalize him as outside the mainstream, beyond the pale of civilized discourse and unworthy of a fair hearing.

Since the day Paul Ryan was announced as Romney’s VP selection, Democrats have barely missed an opportunity to assault the new GOP team — sometimes even physically.

Is that what the Obama team wants? If not, (then) why send a loose cannon like Biden to Tampa on the first day or two of the GOP convention? Especially when there already are credible reports of potential violence from the New Black Panthers, the Occupy Wall Street rabble and even some terrorist groups?

A misplaced word or incendiary phrase — Biden’s pandering crack, “They’re gonna put ya’ll back in chains,” to a largely black crowd in Danville, Va. — could set off trouble.

Make no mistake: The macho swagger started at the top. “If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun,” Obama said at a fund-raiser during the 2008 election

Both sides need to ... give their opponents a respectful hearing and let the voters make up their minds — peacefully — at the ballot box in November. That’s not the Chicago Way — but it’s the American Way.

Just another anarchist coming to the convention. Seriously, what’s the difference?

The first paragraph from the Noonan WSJ opinion article this morning ......

It is good that Joe Biden is going to the Republican National Convention to hold high the flag of his party. People make fun of his gaffes, of his embarrassing verbal forays, but he's no fool and he knows how to take it to the other guy. The speech he is working on, to be given in the heart of downtown, just across from the convention site, will be stirring and stentorian: "All free men, wherever they may live, are citizens of Tampa, and, therefore, as a free man, I take pride in the words, 'Ich bin ein Tampon.'"

Worse than ‘no class’ is ‘low class’, this pair is the lowest of the low.

That’s ok.

The tunes and refrain that they are playing are to the lowest-common denominator in America. The rest of the country will be able to see the contrast in prime time. They have totally lost it since 2008 and they make no pretense now about the type of people that they really are.

Fear not. We have nothing to worry about. They are showing the country who they really are now.

Remember that whenever you see the staged protests and shouting down of Ryan-Romney during events. And expect the media to give it plenty of play; otherwise it wouldn't be effective. I think the best way to deal with the play is to identify it clearly and to attach it to Obama in every instance. You don't want to lend too much credibility to it by responding vehemently but with civility and some humor. That will marginalize both the perpetrator and their cause, and in this way the GOP can claim moral high ground. Of course that's easy when your opponent is a deceptive, conniving, Marxist political gangster bound to no sense of propriety. The open question of whether or not it hits home with the moron vote remains.

Maybe Joe's going to be there to give them the go ahead sign.

She did but the WSJ link I got it from is subscriber only. Just perhaps a little of the ol' Peg is still rattlin' around up there.

Maybe you can google the title ... 'Noonan: America Meets Mr. Romney'. I think the entire article is worth reading.

Nah, the communists are probing for a Reichstag Fire. If it doesn't work, they'll try again against peaceful conservative protesters who may go to Charlotte.

0b0z0 will lose badly IF we have any semblance of a fair election and the communists will never accept that.

I think he’s in Tampa to discredit the Tea party. Remember how Nancy and other prominent RATS staged an “In your FACE” walk through of Tea Party protesters so they could lie about spitting and racial curses? Well the many cameras around them exposed the lies so this time Biden will do it again with a few people of their own to yell what they want to catch on film.

Why? Arkancide?

It’s perfect! It serves every need and puts the blame on the opposition. Off an old white guy? Icing on the cake.

They could very well do something like that. Let’s hope there are conservatives on hand to film the incident. Even if the yeller is identified as one of theirs, don’t expect the media to report that part of the story...but it would be good to have evidence.

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Vice President Joe Biden is postponing his planned trip to Tampa, Fla., the site of the Republican National Convention.

An Obama campaign official says Biden is putting off Monday’s trip in order to ensure that all local law enforcement and emergency management resources can stay focused on Tropical Storm Isaac, which could impact Florida during the convention.

"0b0z0 will lose badly IF we have any semblance of a fair election and the communists will never accept that."

I'm hopeful that the margin in November is so large that there won't be enough car trunks in America to hold the extra ballots needed to "reelect" this scumbag narcissist.

I am, however, beginning to side with Nully on how incredibly (more) dangerous "Obama" could prove to be from 06 November 2012 through 20 January 2013. I worry about that nearly as much as the idea of a second "term." Could he pardon every felon in America, at least theoretically?

Thanks for the Ping, LucyT.
