Things that don't add up... (CT shooting)

Posted on 12/14/2012 11:24:47 PM PST by djf

Now I've been watching this news for most of the day. Remarkably, it seems to change every few minutes.

First, we had the name change. Who exactly did the shooting? Ryan? Adam? Someone else?

Then, we hear that someone in camo garb or something was apprehended in the woods. When I first heard this, I assumed it was the brother and that was why there was confusion about the name.

But turns out that the brother was actually at work - and was not in the woods. So who was in the woods?

We hear that the mother is a teacher at the school. Then we hear that she was actually a teachers assistant. Then I see a brief interview with someone who DOES work at the school and who says "Nobody here every heard of her."

Then, tonight, she is reported as being unemployed.

First, the guns (which we have YET to get a clear description of the types and calibers) were stolen from the mother. Then, they were "legally purchased"... but no indication when or from where. Latest, a brief statement that they were "legally purchased with a license provided by a family member"... Now I'm not trying to label anybody here, but it sounds a little out of character that some suburban mom in small-town New England would have that many guns.

Huh?

The ONLY picture we have seen of this guy so far is an out-of-focus pic taken in 2005! 2005? He didn't have a drivers license? A girlfriend? I can't see how he might get a gun without some sort of valid photo id.

Last I heard, only three of the children made it to the hospital. If so, this would be a stunning percentage kill-ratio wise for the guy. In fact in most public shootings, the vast majority are wounded, but not killed. Did this guy have some kind of training?

Too many loose ends. The story keeps changing.

Am I the only one who is having trouble thinking that this was just some whacko dude who blew a fuse and started shooting?

His information is all over the internet including pictures. He is alive. A reporter talked to him as he pulled in his driveway and allegedly was the one to inform him of what had happened.

Hope, there are plenty of people who think that life and crime really is just like any episode of Law & Order --- no confusion, nothing inexplicable and all questions answered within 48 minutes.

Thankfully, there are more people who know that life is not like television at all.

They reported yesterday that the damage to some of the bodies was so great that they couldn’t ID them, so those parents hadn’t been informed yet, even though they knew their kids hadn’t been handed back to them yet.

My tin foil antenna hat says this is another set up to garner support for 2nd amendment repeal.

Absolutely.

Your government found a guy willing to murder twenty school children, his own mom and then himself...just to make a political point for them.

1. What do you expect from media? They don’t even get their lies straight and you expect cold, hard facts?

2. The ‘Professionals’ (i.e.: the feds) are in control here. The crisis management and investigation are a training exercise. They will give nothing but the minimum leaving idiots in the media to fill air time on their own (see point number one).

3. Children are small and tender. Any wound channel will be far more disasterous than a marginal hit on an adult. Plus, this freak had no opposition in a room of terrified children to select and place his shots (makes me sick just to think about the carnage).

4. Forget any conspiracy theories. Mourn for these innocents. Petition for armed presence in schools. Prepare for an assault on freedom.

5. Take a breather from the media crap and go take a walk.

As a teacher I find our current procedures ridiculous. We're suppose to turn off the lights, lock the classroom door and huddled with the students on the floor. Any idiot is going to know that the students are in school by the backpacks, coats and lunchboxes on the shelves outside, during a normal school day.

I have been lobbying to have a weapon on campus, so it at least gives us a fighting chance to protect the students.

If nothing else get the students out the sliding windows in our room and off the school grounds as as quickly as possible.

The politicians just don’t get it, do they? The more they call for gun control, the more people arm themselves. Attacks on the Second Amendment make the public nervous. Even now, in the wake of this horrible tragedy, we are seeing wave after wave of firearm panic-buying across the country.

I know. It was only about five hours after I saw the first news on the shooting that I saw reports of guns sales going up.

I’ve stated on another thread that any administration that would give untraceable weapons to Mexican drug cartels for campaign contributions or support for restrictive 2A laws, knowing that said weapons would be used to kill hundreds, if not thousands of Mexican citizens, and some of our own, would most certainly be capable of “pushing” someone over the edge.
First find someone on heavy prescription doses of anti-depressants,and perhaps been a troublemaker already, and meet with him a few times, maybe give him some more drugs, and convince him what the nature of his problems are.
Someone needs to try to find out everyone who had contact with this shooter for months prior to the shooting, and who they are,and what connection they may have to Obama’s regime.
Just a conspiracy theory? Maybe. Then give me reasons Obama/Holder would not do such a thing.

The media are too willing to report everything that they hear, even if it has no basis in fact. They love to sensationalize and hype so as to create anxiety in the viewer.

When a school admin gets some money, they put it in the pockets of the administrators, not security equipment.

I know those who want dictatorship are vicious and I know the press would cover any evidence of such a horrifically awful thing, but....

Keep in mind that these are the same people mentored by the likes of Bill Ayres, who calmly discussed "eliminating" 25,000,000 Americans who could not be convinced to think the way they do.

I would put nothing past them.

While I can't say they did arrange this, I can't say they would not, and one thing is certain: They will milk it inside out to further their agenda: an America incapable of seriously resisting its own overthrow.

How does one do THAT much damage with a handgun? I know Hollywood has explosive rounds in every firearm, but Reality usually doesn't.

For THAT kind of damage, and THAT kill ratio, he must have been pumping multiple rounds into each body (and some took every round to the face to make ID difficult)... but for almost 30 dead, with every body taking multiple rounds, he had to have been carrying many, many clips... too many to carry around unnoticed, one might think.

It sure has that stink on it, doesn't it?

Between the horror of the event (paging Col. Kurtz), and the abundant misinformation, few will pursue the facts, if such can even be obtained, where ever they may lead.

Exactly what I told my kids when they were in school. Bust open a window and JUMP. Even with a broken ankle, they have a better chance of saving themselves. Crawl away, hide behind a bush...ANYTHING but a sitting duck.

And, I’d really like to know who that person in the woods was. Someone there to make sure the shooter didn’t walk out of the school alive?

Exactly right!

This sitting duck routine needs to be thrown out the window.

This is another Beslan cover up ops. We know criminals come, and we knew about this guy. Why did he shoot the school psych first? Something tells me he shot those treating him.

This stuff stinks.

Anyone against the armed defense of these children is criminaly responsible. Ubama is doing the same with nuclear umbrella disarmament. This is a wide precedent of suicide and stupidity that is being sought.

Things that don't add up...

That's common when everyone in the media wants to be the first one to break the sensationalized news......It's easier and faster to print hearsay under the disclaimer "...allegedly" than to wait until all the facts come out and then print the truth.

Usually by then it's second hand news......
