Massacre guns on sale in the UK
The Sun UK ^

Posted on 01/02/2013 7:46:15 AM PST by Da_Shrimp

LETHAL assault rifles like the one used in America’s Sandy Hook school massacre are being LEGALLY sold in Britain.

A Welsh-based firm is advertising a Ruger SR-22 semi-automatic as a “clone” of an AR-15, the gun loner Adam Lanza used to kill 26 people.

Shocked campaigners are demanding new gun controls after The Sun discovered British dealers selling the weapons.

A similar gun to Lanza’s intimidating Bushmaster AR-15 is being sold by Arundel Militaria, based in Knighton, Powys.

Anybody wanting to own the gun in Britain would need a section 1 firearms licence.

And do you get to keep it at home loaded for self defense or do you have keep it unloaded and disassembled or a “registered gun club?”

I guess that was really addressed to me? You have to have a secure gun cabinet and keep ammo and weapons separately.

You really have to be up close and personal. Then too, what size .22 was he hit with and how far away was the shooter? Most “assassination” guns are .22’s - the Israeli Mossad uses them. A .22 will whiz around your brain box scrambling it.

The Ruger SR-22 is a 22-caliber rimfire pistol.

It's not even a rifle. The Bushmaster is a rifle.

Ack, those are nothing. In America, every 12 year old has a fully automatic massacre weapon.

I’m so jealous. Just did a quick google to find out more about Derbyshire - pronounced DAR-by-sher?

So, essentially, the firearm is useless. Big deal.

22 were used for assignation pistols only because of the ability to very effectively silence them.

They can be effectively silenced because they are so low power, lower speed bullet.

You can kill with them. But because they are such low power, it is typical for states to ban hunting with them.

The Sr-22 is a .22lr woodchuck gun.

It “Looks” scary, but is pretty much a dressed up 10/22.

It's not even a rifle. The Bushmaster is a rifle.

You should write to The Sun and point it out. Mind you, that'd ruin their hysterical headline.

Since the SR-22 is available as a rifle, it might not make such a change to them.

If they REALLY wanted to get spicy naughty, they should sell the SR-556.

I don’t think those are legal in UK. I believe only the rim-fire is available in semi-auto.

Reading the uberliberal media is hilarious.

Every rifle in the world, no matter the make, manufacturer, caliber, etc. has the ability to be lethal, perform an assault and be intimidating. Of course a human behind the controls is required before any of these horrendous adjectives can be realized.

I’m surprised this article didn’t label rifles as dangerous.

Sadly that is true.
Centerfire is not legal from what I understand.
The Sun is peeing themselves over a .22lr woodchuck gun that ‘looks’ scary.
Strip it out and it is a Ruger 10/22 action and trigger group with exra exterior glamour bits.

“Massacre guns”...from the country that has already outlawed “serial killer handguns” and in the process of making illegal their “holocaust steak knives”.

I know!
NY state doesn’t like most of that product line because of the scary MUZZLE BRAKE and the terrifying six position stock.
