I remember using coca-cola to clean aluminum. In elementary school, I did an in-class experiment by placing one of my freshly removed baby teeth in a glass of coca-cola. after 2-3 days, the tooth had dissolved.

It also works for removing decals and such, intact, from car windshields.

By family were lumberjacks in the north east. My grandfather used to use Coke (the soda wise guy ;) on the split rims of his log trucks to bust the rust for a tire change.

You could beat those things with a sledge hammer for 10 min and not budge them. Rust had them locked together solid. But pour a bottle of coke around the lockring, wait 5 min and they would pop first hit.

Coke...the universal solvent.

I drink Pepsi.

An interesting sidebar: Coca-Cola is the number one company in Greece’s stock market.

“Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling SA (ATHEX: EEEK), the world’s No. 2 Coca-Cola bottler and Greece’s biggest company by market value, plans to leave the epicenter of Europe’s debt crisis in favor of a London stock listing and Swiss domicile.”

our Father taught us to avoid soft drinks but
this sounds promising...

we plan to try it out. no real harm in trying it....and if it works it has to be a lot better than some of the harsh chemical laxatives!?

thanks for posting this

How much are these clowns consuming? Just add some rum and a little lime and everything will be OK!

Then I can rest assured I’ll never have an intestinal clog. I drink the stuff all the time ... not that diet crap, either.

I’m of the opinion that Pepsi is to soft-drinks what soccer is to sports ... a commie plot pretending to be an American favorite.

This is news? I remember when the local Pharmacy had coke syrup on hand to sell to people who had nausea from being sick. You took a spoonful of the syrup and put it over ice and slowly sipped it and the nausea would go away.

Overeating is another problem. After dinner you would drink a Coca Cola and it would kill some of the indigestion.

One man I worked with years ago had a problem with keeping food down. The doctor put him on a straight diet of Coca Cola for two weeks.

After a week he was sick of cola so cooked up some bacon and eggs. Less than 30 minutes later he was heaving and puking. He went back on Coca Cola till the doctor took him off.

Think of Coca-Cola as DRANO for the body. -tom

I wonder how long the tooth would last in stomach acid, before it as been diluted with Coke?

Quarts to Liters
Furlongs to Yards
Fathoms to Inches
Newtons to Dynes
etc., etc., etc.

The acid released in our stomach is hydrochloric acid (HCl), the same strong acid that is handled cautiously in chemistry labs.

I think it can handle a can of Coke.

a study proving that drinking Coca-Cola (the brand name provided in the article) can open up clogs in people with overly convoluted gastrointestinal systems caused by the ingestion of digested fruits and vegetables.

Seems like the simplest solution is to stop eating fruits and vegetables.

High-fiber foods like the ones in the article ussually have the opposite effect for me, I wonder if soaking the fruits in cola for a while first would make them easier to digest?

Hmmmm, I think that needs some experimentation....
