“I learned a long time ago not to tell them anything more than what ails me..I’d recommend others do the same and teach their kids to keep their mouth shut.”

True. Where I work they’ll give you a questionaire on mental health, and it would have questions like the following:

In the morning, when it’s time to wake up, do you:
a) Jump out of bed, all excited to take on the day
b) Usually get up without a problem, but once in a while feel like sleeping in.
c) Never want to get out of bed, until I absolutely must.
d) Wish you’d never been born.

Of the above, any answer except (a) will result in a diagnosis of Depression. Next an army of useless, but well-paid, people will descend on you DEMANDING that you get treatment immediately. In the future, don’t be surprised if that diagnosis puts you in the no-gun category.

...and for Heaven’s sake, never take your kid to a shrink, for the same reason. Just spank him instead if he acts up (regardless of what Dr. Spock’s books tell you).

I helped my doctor buy his guns.
You still have your guns, doc?

I had this conversation with daughter of Doomonyou (18 years old) today and was somewhat disturbed that she had this question posed to her a few years ago and answered "yes." It was a written list of questions you typically fill out on your first visit to a new provider and she answered something like, " yes, we have guns in the house and I know how to shoot them and they are for protecting our house." The Nurse replied something like, "Wow, we don't get many answers like that! My Husband is a hunter and we have guns in the house too." Wife of Doomonyou has been asked and answered NO, I've haven't been asked yet. All of us have been asked, "Do you feel safe at Home?"

Anyway, If you have a CCW, bought a hunting license, bought a gun in the last ten years or so, your on a "list".

My pediatrician asked me. I told them I wouldn’t answer with the following explanation. I don’t know who has access to their records. If I answered yes it could prompt someone to try and rob the house to steal my guns. If I answered no it could prompt someone to try and rob the house because they knew I didn’t have guns.

He agreed and recorded no answer. The little one is too young to be able to anser.

“Don’t train them to lie- lying is a sin- train them to look the doctor i nthe eye and say “That’s none of your damn business””

What a crock. Isn’t the term “damn” in this context also a sin? And the way I see it, a much more serious one...

The way I see it, anyone who is stupid enough to answer such a question affirmatively, is probably too stupid to be around a gun.

The government could see a person owns a gun, cross reference that at the IRS with a “no” answer to the doctor, and call that “insane” to take the gun away.

Just saying.

Better to say coyly, “I’m not telling.”

Maybe it’s high time we the peopel begin diagnosing our doctors with ‘mentally unstable’ diagnosis’ so that they lsoe their right to practice since they have refused to honor their patient confidentiality oath- or we coudl at least order the docs to undergo psychiatric evaluations with psychaitrists of OUR choosing to determien if they are mentally fit enough to be allowed to continue practicing

[[”Do you feel safe at Home?”]]

The reply should be “No, not anymore since you docs have agreed to violate patient confidentiality rule by sharing my medical info with hte government who is hell bent on takign away our right to self protection”

“Damn” is just a word. Society decided it was a bad word. I don’t care about what society thinks and that goes for every word. I would not, however, include “God” in any sentence except for praise as His name is holy. Society’s words are not holy.

The only answer is ... If that question was relevant to my healthcare or the issue that brought me here today I would give you an answer. It doesn’t so I won’t

I am 80 years old, so I can say anything I want. Doc says, “Do you have a gun?” I say, “I don’t see it on my medicine list so I don’t have one.” And, I have a look on my face like I answered the question to the best of my ability.
