***THE OFFICIAL FRIDAY SERIESNESS THREAD***

Posted on 01/25/2013 5:01:49 AM PST by Lucky9teen

Today is "Opposite Day"

When : Always January 25th

Opposite Day is a topsy, turvy day when everything you say, do, see, and hear are the opposite. If you say go left, you mean go right. If you say look up, it means look down. If you see your left foot...is it really your right?  Although for most in Washington, EVERY day is Opposite Day...

Yesiree, Bob. Opposite Day can be a whole lot of fun. It can also be very, very confusing. This special day is celebrated primarily among school children. Sponge Bob Square Pants even got into the act, with an episode containing the whimsical nature of this day.

Thought for the Day: Opposites attract.

Yeh, she's honorable all right...

No!!! The pellet with the poison’s in the flagon with the dragon! The vessel with the pestle has the brew that is true!

Isn’t that before the flagon with the dragon broke?

I’ll admit it’s been a while.

OK, I found it on youtube.

It was originally “the pellet with the poison’s in the chalice from the palace. The vessel with the pestle has the brew that is true.” But they broke the chalice from the palace, which changed it. After that point “the pellet with the poison’s in the flagon with the dragon, the vessel with the pestle has the brew that is true.”

I wasn’t saying “no” to you; should’ve used quote marks.

Here’s the script:

The vessel with the pestle has the pestle and the poison.
The chalice from the palace has the brew that is true.

~~~~~~~~~~`
Hawkins: I’ve got it! I’ve got it! The pellet with the poison’s in the vessel with the pestle; the chalice from the palace has the brew that is true! Right?
Griselda: Right. But there’s been a change: they broke the chalice from the palace!
Hawkins: They broke the chalice from the palace?
Griselda: And replaced it with a flagon.
Hawkins: A flagon...?
Griselda: With the figure of a dragon.
Hawkins: Flagon with a dragon.
Griselda: Right.
Hawkins: But did you put the pellet with the poison in the vessel with the pestle?
Griselda: No!!! The pellet with the poison’s in the flagon with the dragon! The vessel with the pestle has the brew that is true!
Hawkins: The pellet with the poison’s in the flagon with the dragon; the vessel with the pestle has the brew that is true.
Griselda: Just remember that.
All in the clip.
What really amazes me when I watch those clips is what hotties Angela Lansbury and Glynis Johns were.
They both remained attractive, but they were real femme fatales as youngsters.
I understand that the studio tried to make a femme fatale out of Lucille Ball when she started her acting career. For some reason it didn't take and she would have been a failure if they hadn't discovered how funny she is.
Personally, I have no idea why it didn't take.
Lucille Ball was also a pin up girl during WWII for our GI’s
It is pretty amazing to see the youthful version of celebrities we have only known as old.
I tried to envision femme fatale Lansbury playing Murder She Wrote and it was excellent.
I’ll be darned-—all Freepers are about the same age according to you.
I actually remember some of them when they were young.Am I no longer relevant around here?
