An influential U.S. panel is calling for HIV screening for all Americans aged 15 to 65, regardless of whether they are considered to be at high risk, a change that may help lift some of the stigma associated with HIV testing.
The new guidelines from the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF), a government-backed panel of doctors and scientists, now align with longstanding recommendations by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for testing of all adults aged 15 to 65, regardless of their risk.
Despite strides in reducing cases of HIV infection in the United States in the past three decades, as many as 50,000 Americans become infected with the virus each year. The CDC estimates that almost 1.2 million people in the United States are infected with HIV, yet 20 percent to 25 percent of them do not know it.

I’m routinely tested for HIV due to the fact that I’m a blood donor.
Gawd, I’d be so banned if I gave my response.
Get some knee pads....

Those with HIV-AIDS need MORE stigma, not to spread it! Should be prison time for that
So not for medical reasons but for social reasons, to remove stigma.
Yet another reason to abolish Obamacare.
Who supplies the tests and how much do they cost? Who on the panel has stock in the companies? Sounds like a crony payoff to me.
This just stinks to high heavens. They want to test 1/4 of a BILLION people just to find the 10 or 20 thousand newly infected who don’t know they’re infected? I don’t know how you would do it but I’ll bet if you follow the money someone in or close to the Obama regime will make a lot of money from this.
Oh, yeah, 0bamaCare will reduce health care costs! /s
Now you mention Obamacare. Will Obama be tested for HIV? since hmmm you know ...Reggie Love, etc.
No shit. Why should I need to be tested for a disease that mostly only IV drug users, and sodomites contract?
The contraction rate for normal heterosexual sex is about 0.
The “fact” that anyone sexually active is at risk for aids is pure garbage. Look at the statistics, HOMOSEXUALS AND IV DRUG USERS are basically the only people at risk of this disease. GO F URSELF anyone that thinks I have to get tested.
Just quarantine those with HIV. Problem solved, and much cheaper...
How in the world could the could prick my middle finger and live to hold onto my fist?
How often do they want to do this testing? How will this be enforced?
And just who are these superior beings that shall not be named. FU!
Watch, everything will be required or you are a criminal, and no guns for you.
I don’t want any government official that’s been testing people for HIV all day long with any needles ANYWHERE near me.
Mistakes happen, and this will be a cesspool of uninfected being infected. Say no, if they say they have to, tell them you have to protect yourself with lethal force.

The elephant in the room here is that by an overwhelming margin, these cases are gay and bisexual men. I checked the CDC’s own numbers on this a while back. As of 2010, gay and bisexual men account for new cases of HIV - and syphilis - at a rate 47 times higher than straight men.
Now, I’m not saying it’s a bad idea to get yourself checked out if you’ve been sexually active in your life. Nor am I saying that straight men can’t get HIV. They can. I’m just saying the bulk of the problem is within a particular demographic, and it makes neither sense nor is it the government’s business to mandate universal screening for everyone. IMHO, anyway.
If we had quarantined the gays 25-30 years ago when AIDS first came to America, you would only know about the virus today by reading history books...
Those slutting around with people they don’t know are at risk of a lot of things.
Probably all of them.
If there's a stigma in testing, then there must be stigma in having HIV. Is the government going to infect everyone in order to remove the stigma?
