Ancient Egyptian statue has started MOVING sparking fears it has been struck by a 'curse of the Pharaohs'
It sounds like the something from the script of a Hollywood action adventure. But the 'mystery of the moving mummy' - which has seen an Egyptian statue mysteriously start to spin round in a display case - has spooked museum bosses. The 10-inch tall relic, an offering to the Egyptian God Osiris, was found in a mummy's tomb and has been at the Manchester Museum for 80 years.
But in recent weeks, curators have been left scratching their heads after they kept finding it facing the wrong way. They now believe there could be a 'spiritual explanation' for the turning statue.

We are not far from train tracks and stuff moves all over the house. I can’t hear or feel the train, but the china cabinet sure can.
A little mystery never hurt business -- think of all the "haunted" inns where people flock to hopefully have paranormal experiences.
Surely these people know about Museum Wax. They use it a lot here in earth-quaky Caliornia: Museum Wax

Behold!
I see we have an engineer and a very good private investigator in our midst!
WELL DONE!
Wouldn’t it move further to the edge if the base was uneven? Not do a 180 in the same spot?
I’ll ask him what he thinks about it.
If you believe this you're just a silly asp.
You're so ignorant you don't even know what the meaning of isis.
And that means you're dumber than Miley Osiris, which is pretty bad.
So don't be a scarabycat.
Aswan freeper to another, the aforementioned female statue is as harmless and sweet as that little puppet, Lambcheops. I'm sure Berber Clinton would date her in the sphinx of an eyelid.

Having fun, I see.
“The revolving statue does not signify an Egyptian CURSE, I tell you!
If you believe this you’re just a silly asp.”
Very witty of you. I sphinx you made an excellent post. Well done!
The ancient Egyptians were known for innovating truly impressive magic tricks. These sometimes used air, steam and water pressure, heat, friction and slickness, leverage along with balanced weights and counterweights, etc., and even several complex machines.
One machine that totally puzzled everyone was a metal horse. A real sword would pass through the neck of the horse, and yet it would not decapitate the horse. Inside its neck were gears and locks that the sword blade would open and close.
Say there were three sets, all locked. The sword would open the first gear, then as it passed through to the second gear, the first gear would re-lock, then the second gear would open. As the sword passed through the third gear and out again, once again all three gears would be locked.
They used tricks to open very large doors “automatically”, without touching them, tubes to convey words seeming to come from statues, etc.

The EGYPTIAN God of the Dead is coming to GET the Muslim Interlopers!!! I wish him well.
Holy carp, that was exceedingly well-played! LOL
Leni - good punning... If anyone wants my opinion, I would say that current attendance at the museum of ancient what-nots has been disastrous, thus: a lot of needed publicity to attract the Millennial Rockers...
Giorgio is a parody of himself ... he does it very well.
