If We Could Start Our Own Country Called "Free Republic", What Would Our Constitution Say? (Vanity)

Let us pretend for a moment, or longer if the idea takes off, that we found some uncharted land or won our freedom from America, and began our own country.
Let us also pretend we had a convention of Freepers who were charged with deciding what our new constitution would say, and what rights our new Government would be limited to.
After seeing the destruction of the United States, and knowing how it came about, I wonder if we could write a new constitution that would stand the test of time?
I'll start by offering these suggestions for consideration as amendments.
- All households shall be required to own, and have knowledge of how to properly operate, fire arms for defense.
- All human life begins at the moment of inception and thus, shall receive the same protections as all humans who have been born.
- A family unit shall be defined as a human born as a man and a human born as a woman who live together in a union of marriage.
- All elected government officials shall obey all laws voted upon and agreed to by the people.
- The shall forever remain sovereign and free of influence from all political jurisdiction outside the boundaries of the nation.
- The rate of taxation shall never rise above the level where all basic essential services are fulfilled.
- Unless a citizen is physically unable to perform tasks needed to earn a living, they shall never receive assistance from others through taxation from another citizen via the government.
- The government shall never be involved at any level of education outside of training an individual for military service.
- Every able bodied male citizen shall serve a minimum of 4 years of military service.
- No elected official shall ever seek to change or weaken any original amendment to the constitution as agreed upon by those individuals charged with constructing the constitution.
- All new amendments must obey all the original amendments, but they themselves can be amended by new amendments.
Any other suggestions?

Just the original U.S. constitution and bill of rights.
but also add a sunset clause so that all laws and government regulations would have a 4 year expiration date.
also add that the only thing the federal gov allowed to do is military, border control courts and international issues.
the only thing state and local govs and fed gov should be enforcing is laws that prevent the initiation of force.
that means no stealing, no murder, no assault , no trespassing.
you have property rights, right to be left alone by gov and others, right to privacy, and freedom. only when you violate one of those laws you initiate force against an individual or entity only then will gov have the right to arrest you but then you'll have due process of courts.
that means no government at any level should ever be doing schools, roads, libraries ,museums , healthcare , charities, . no the only function of government is to keep the peace by preventing the initiation of force and to act as a referee in settling any disputes in a court of law(lawsuits ).
now you have government funding 30 years of global warming fake research. and they use that fake research to ban lightbulbs and other tyranical things, obamacare, the gov schools. gov should leave us and the free market alone

It would look like our current U.S. Constitution.
Which was written for a God fearing people, and no other.
That is our current problem.
Too many either don’t believe or have shaped God in THEIR image.

That was my amendment #10.
No elected official shall ever seek to change or weaken any original amendment to the constitution as agreed upon by those individuals charged with constructing the constitution.

Indeed - state it specifically.
The restrictions placed on government in this Constitution are not interpretable to mean other than what they say.
The only process by which to change the foundational restrictions in this Constitution are through the defined amendment processes.

Absolutely Essential: Terms limits, including judges.
Essential: ALL laws sunset (no more than 25 years). They may be passed again, but otherwise they expire.

So what you are saying is that my 10th amendment should have been added to our original constitution.
#10. No elected official shall ever seek to change or weaken any original amendment to the constitution as agreed upon by those individuals charged with constructing the constitution.

I’ve always been fond of Heinlein’s idea of having two legislative bodies: one to pass laws on a two thirds majority, one to repeal them on a one third minority vote.

The whole world would come in to take a piece of the country. We would have a billion illegal aliens come here. The UN would pass laws taking over the country.

Yes I agree with term limits and the limit on a the length a new law is enforceable, but I would limit them all to 10 years only.
And I like the idea from aimhigh, that the government shall not create, impose or collect any tax that is not approved by 75% of the states.
All Federal programs must be approved by 75% of the states at least every 10 years.
So basically a federal referendum where all citizens would have top approve. Difficult in 1776, but not so today.

Proposed modification to #9
Citizenship and the right to vote in federal elections, shall be obtained after the successful completion of four years of military, law enforcement, firefighting, paramedic or federal government service.
To: mountainlion
Only over the dead bodies of each and every citizen, because we would have my fifth nd ninth amendments,
#5. The shall forever remain sovereign and free of influence from all political jurisdiction outside the boundaries of the nation.
#9. Every able bodied male citizen shall serve a minimum of 4 years of military service.

I would include no form of taxation that ends up being a drag on the economy. In short, taxation by consumption tax and not by income tax, so the very process of earning money is not subject to taxation.
