"I hope he finds out they make bread with generous amounts of lard in Russia." That's what I thought! Bread made with animal fat, not corn oil.

What, no cucumbers? My husband used to travel to Russia and said they served cukes at every single meal.
I don’t wish foreign prison on anyone but, geez louise, what a pantywaist to complain that he wasn’t offered a “vegetarian alternative.” Talk about 1st World problems.

I see an ugly fake leather couch, a GF with a dental problem, things made of wood (save the planet), synthetic plastic bags (poisonous chemicals used to make them!), gift paper made with poisonous dyes, ugly shag synthetic rugs...oh my!

claims he was forced to live on bread and water while being held in a Russian prison because it didn't offer a vegetarian alternative He wasn't "forced" to live on bread and water if he chose not to eat the mystery meat.

He’s a vegetarian. Not a vegan. There’s a difference.

“he was forced”
“ he refused to eat some of the food”
these are two contradictory statements in the same article. He was not forced. He chose not to eat some of the food offered to him.

After 2 months on bread and water this is the shell of a man that emerged:
Was he over 400 pounds prior to the arrest?

Looks like he gained the weight back. That's from eating all that bread. If he'd eaten the meat, he'd have been a lot healthier when he got out.

I wonder how many of them are so arrogant that they would ever cross the Russians again?
They were extremely lucky that the Russians were having a “European” mood swing, instead of an “Asian” one.

Google it. Vegans are opposed to all animal products, including non-consumables, such as leather. Might as well look up vegetarian while you`re at it.
