Fate of Ark of the Covenant Revealed in Hebrew Text
LiveScience ^ | 07 Jan 2014 | Owen Jarus

A newly translated Hebrew text claims to reveal where treasures from King Solomon's temple were hidden and discusses the fate of the Ark of the Covenant itself.

But unlike the Indiana Jones movie "Raiders of the Lost Ark," the text leaves the exact location of the Ark unclear and states that it, and the other treasures, "shall not be revealed until the day of the coming of the Messiah son of David …" putting it out of reach of any would-be treasure seeker.

King Solomon's Temple, also called the First Temple, was plundered and torched by the Babylonian King Nebuchadnezzar II in the sixth century B.C., according to the Hebrew Bible. The Ark of the Covenant is a chest that, when originally built, was said to have held tablets containing the 10 commandments. It was housed in Solomon's Temple, a place that contained many different treasures.

The newly translated text, called "Treatise of the Vessels" (Massekhet Kelim in Hebrew), says the "treasures were concealed by a number of Levites and prophets," writes James Davila, a professor at the University of St. Andrews, in an article in the book "Old Testament Pseudepigrapha More Noncanonical Scriptures Volume 1" (William B. Eerdmans Publishing Co., 2013).

"Some of these (treasures) were hidden in various locations in the Land of Israel and in Babylonia, while others were delivered into the hands of the angels Shamshiel, Michael, Gabriel and perhaps Sariel …" writes Davila in his article.

The treatise is similar in some ways to the metallic "Copper Scroll," one of the Dead Sea Scrolls found near the site of Qumran in the West Bank. The Copper Scroll also discusses the location of hidden treasure, although not from Solomon's Temple.

It is 7 miles east of Jerusalem. That is, it is in your inspiration and your intuition. The story is an allegory of internal spiritual things. East is the direction of spirutal enlightement and 7 is the number for illumination and inspiration. Jerusalem is your receptive spiritual center.

At least the ancients didn’t know about Area 51.

True. But from the Biblical descriptions of what it did, the ARK was apparently a weapon system.

The Ark is in the Church of St. Mary of Axum in Ethiopia.

It is God's radio and a thing of awsome power. It ought to be left alone.

I always thought the “Ark of the Covenant” was in Heaven.
Maybe this is after the fact ... I’m not sure ... still learning.

Revelation 11:19
And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.

Can’t say I see any significance to the ARK, except as an artifact, same as the Tabernacle of Moses.

ALL those things were SHADOWS (types?) of Heavenly things in and pertaining to the Heavenly Temple.

ALL of those things were constructed of EARTHLY materials, assembled by MAN’S hands. With the rending of the veil of the Herodian temple upon the death of Jesus, they, like the Temple and priestly sacrifices, were rendered of no more effect.

Ergo, the Ark, if any of it even remains, is ever found, it is just an interesting artifact. Personally, I believe that it has long since been utterly destroyed, lest, like the brazen snake of Moses, it become an object of worship and a snare.

The Ark to be revealed at the coming of Messiah will be the Heavenly Ark that was the pattern. John even tells us he saw it in the Heavenly Temple when he was called to Heaven in the spirit.

Rev 11:19

19 And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.
KJV

I'm recording that one too. I've been anticipating it for some time now. It looks good so far. A little too much faux drama but that's ok.

I certainly hope they can get those water traps blocked and get down the last 40 feet. Based on the dates this thing was built...it really could be Templar treasure. It's possible. But then, Al Capone's vault was supposed to hold vast riches.

and, it is still a mind boggling mystery as far as who built it, and why?

Assuming it was "built". There is good evidence it's nothing but a natural formation, and the "built" part is that which was built by those seeking something.

My opinion is that the only man made evidence so far is that which was created by those seeking something, not by someone leaving something.

Bah! Everyone knows the Ark is at the bottom of the pit on Oak Island along with a whole trove of Templar Knight treasure.

And it's being guarded by Bat Boy.

“Bah! Everyone knows the Ark is at the bottom of the pit on Oak Island along with a whole trove of Templar Knight treasure.”

That’s just what they wanted us to think. The Oak Island Pit is a red herring.

The real hidy hole is in a cave, in the Grand Canyon, with a No Fly Zone over it enforced by angles camouflaged to look like modern fighter jets and/or helicopters.
