MUST SEE TV: CNN’s Jake Tapper Schooled By War Hero Marcus Lutrell (Video)(Watch this!!)
The Gateway Pundit ^ | 1-11-2014 | Jim Hoft

What an awful display of liberal media bias.
Jake Tapper lectured former Navy SEAL and war hero Marcus Lutrell about “senseless war” yesterday. Tapper was talking about the war in Afghanistan, a war that was started only after Al-Qaeda blew up the World Trade Center Towers in New York City kiling 3,000 Americans.

Marcus Latrell let him have it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pLJWu2h1T_k

Transcript via Young Conservatives:

CNN’s Jake Tapper: “One of the emotions that I felt, while watching the film is first of all the hopelessness of the situation — how horrific it was and also just all that loss of life of these brave American men. And I was torn about the message of the film in the same way that I think I am about the war in Afghanistan itself. I don’t want any more senseless American death. And at the same time I know that there were bad people there and good people that need help.”

Former Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell: “I don’t know what part of the film you were watching, but hopelessness really never came into it. I mean, where did you see that? Because there was never a point where we just felt like we were hopelessly lost or anything like that. We never gave up. We never felt like we were losing until we were actually dead.”

CNN’s Jake Tapper: “Just the sense of all these wonderful people who died. It seemed senseless. I don’t mean to disrespect in any way, but it seemed senseless — all of these wonderful people who were killed for an op that went wrong.”

Former Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell: “We spend our whole lives training to defend this country and then we were sent over there by this country — so you’re telling me because we were over there doing what we were told by our country that it was senseless? And my guys — what? They died for nothing?”

CNN’s Jake Tapper: “No.”

Former Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell: “That’s what you said. So, let me just say, it went bad for us over there, but that was our job. That’s what we did. We didn’t complain about it.”

Jake Tapper is not a typical media liberal. He is far more balanced and a huge supporter of our fighting men and women. He was attempting, with 20/20 hindsight, to express the outrage and hurt of losing such incredible men as these in a war and on a mission that seems senseless to most Americans. If you think this war isn’t senseless, then I will await your explanation as to why American blood has been spillling in Afghanisfan for 13 years now with no good end in sight. Tapper has nothing to explain and certainly nothing to apologize for here.

When Marcus said, "That's what you said!"….It was like he sucked all of the air out of the room. Tapper is not the worst, but Marcus, with words, snapped his neck. That is what SEALS do

The question is how many more good Americans die while pretend to ourselves that we’re going to blast a Stone Age country into the 21st century?

If they'd keep their Stone Age evil to themselves, the answer would be zero more good Americans would die. But they spread their Stone Age evil all across the globe, wantonly murdering countless numbers of innocents in brutal ways. So good people will continue to die at their hands, whether it be American soldiers, or innocent people just going to work early one morning in NYC.

Tapper is personalizing the battles and sacrifices as if they were his own — he shouldn’t.

I regret many don’t have the sense to respect the sacrifices the Country’s heroes have made, and instead choose to express their careless indignation.

If you were to look closely at Tapper you would see a champion of our warriors and veterans.

We literally just got back from the movie, and I have to admit I'm torn. Part of me says do what it takes to finish it and get out (but that part of me would push the button on every nuke we have), and another part of me saw good Afghans in the movie who fight the Taliban and just want to be left alone. Of course, if the first part of me got his way, they'd be vaporized too.

The movie is about a tactical engagement of a 4 member SEAL team against a numerically superior enemy, which the SEALs tried to avoid, and not about the political situation in Afghanistan.

Tapper -

"CNN’s Jake Tapper: “One of the emotions that I felt, while watching the film is first of all the hopelessness of the situation

Not according to Latrell - that is not what the movie portrays.

Tapper - how horrific it was and also just all that loss of life of these brave American men...— all of these wonderful people who were killed for an op that went wrong.”

Luttrell or his SEAL team did not feel that way. They understand the risks and accept them.

And I was torn about the message of the film in the same way that I think I am about the war in Afghanistan itself. "

Again, that message wasn't in the movie of "hopelessness" or "senseless". Tapper interjected his own liberal, media politics as an overlay to the movie.

The idea for the war was correct. Go on, Blow the hell out of the idiots and get out.

The PROBLEM, as is always the case, is that liberals were liberals. War should be, as smarter men than I have said, Brutal, Bloody and short. Unfortunately Bush, whether under pressure from Liberals, his ‘comapssionate’ BS or a combo of both, started believing that war could be any other way.

Then of course, you have the Marxist and his crazier than Bush’s ROEs designed to get people dead. OUR people.

Now for Tapper. The above is the ONLY thing any honest reporter (should one yet breath) should be addressing. Because every problem of this mess comes directly from the above. We were right to go in. We were wrong for not vaporizing the place, salting the earth and leaving it uninhabitable for decades.

If they'd keep their Stone Age evil to themselves, the answer would be zero more good Americans would die. But they spread their Stone Age evil all across the globe, wantonly murdering countless numbers of innocents in brutal ways.

A) Taliban and AQ are not the same thing.

B) The people fighting us in Afghanistan are fighting us because we're IN THEIR COUNTRY. They will never stop fighting us for being there. If foreign troops invaded our country and backed a corrupt government I hope you'd join me in fighting them too.

C) AQ attacked the U.S. because they see the U.S. as the power behind the throne of the corrupt dictatorships in the region they want to overthrow. If we weren't meddling in the internal politics of Middle Eastern countries (and we undeniably have been for over 50 years) AQ would be busying blowing up other muslims trying to establish the kind of government they want. OBL sought to punch the puppet master in the face. His hope was to get the U.S. more drawn into the region in the knowledge they would eventually tire and he hoped leave for good. If we don't really leave, we can expect more attacks.

I don't think trying to foster friendly dictatorships in the Middle East is worth the real costs we bear in blood, treasure and the birth of a totalitarian surveillance state at home. YMMV.

“Tapper looked bad squirming in his chair. Two different worlds colliding.”

Marcus should have used his pinky to bring Tapper to his knees and made him wet his pants! That would have been “Must See TV!” I am so freaking tired of this liberal media. Basta!! Enough!!

In the end, Tapper had to look to the
fellow elite, Hollywood Wahlberg to
try to extricate himself to the hole
he dug for himself. Typical.

He didn’t even need to touch Tapper. Tapper was so uncomfortable at one point it looked as if he wanted to bolt. Most of those TV sorts are so vain and if Tapper looks at the video—he will squirm again. His image took a hit.
