Ever notice how si-fi and fantasy films now dominate the box office?

Forty years ago you might have one or two on a weekend double feature, with dramas and comedies the rest of the week.

Now, on our local six plex theater, most of the shows are always si-fi fantasies, children shows, comedies. Good dramas come through maybe twice in a month.

That is because more and more people are joining with me in telling Hollywood, "Either give us good writing or guns, spaceships and explosions if you want us to watch."

I think I saw two that I will see in theater and two more that I might watch on DVD.

Not bad.

I see lots of great stuff to torrent later this year.

Transformers, and anything involving Ninja Turtles are not in that list.

Heh.

There’s two that I probably will go see in a theater; “Interstellar” by Christopher Nolan and Gareth Edward’s take on “Godzilla”.

I’m a big kaiju fan. “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” also looks good as well, so I might have to check that one out as well.

That's because forty years ago we had some real writers putting out good stories and we had actual actors and comedians with talent! now they have to use computers to create something we want to watch, and they still fail most of the time.

And not an original idea in the bunch.

Edge of Tomorrow sounds interesting but not in their top 10.
