For the first time ever, a meteor has been captured on camera falling through the sky after it has finished burning. And that’s not all: the baseball-sized space rock nearly slammed into the man behind the camera.

If this rock and cracked him on the noggin and knocked him cold, then he plowed into the ground with the usual tissue damage, what are the chances the coroner would have reached the meteorite scenario for cause of death?

If you view the video you will see the airplane as a small white blip miles in the distance before the rock passes. In order for the rock to be proximate to him the airplane would have to have been practically hovering above him.

Or do you think someone can throw a rock that close from several miles away?

Piece of something that came off his chute when it opened. It would have had to be dense like a rock to fall like that.

The helmet probably would have had a mark on it, but the odds against it are so low that the suggested explanation wouldn’t have been believed — even with that cam footage, which might have shown the rock hurtling on.
