Interior Secretary Sally Jewell is convening a panel of 18 scholars next month that will be charged with exploring the LGBT movement’s story in areas such as law, religion, media, civil rights and the arts. The committee will identify relevant sites and its work will be used to evaluate them for inclusion on the National Register of Historic Places, designation as National Historic Landmarks, or consideration as national monuments, Park Service Director Jonathan Jarvis said. …

Reverchon Park in uptown Dallas, where you can’t eat LUNCH without seeing sex, hearing sex or being propositioned by homosexuals. When I got out of the Marine Corps, my first job was at Reverchon Plaza, across the street from the park. I made the mistake of taking my lunch across the street to soak up some sun while eating - only to be GREATLY disturbed with what Reverchon Park had become during my ten years in the Marine Corps! You can also add most of the Oak Lawn area in uptown Dallas to this list!

For historical references, White Rock Lake - where you couldn’t go after dark! But they were chased away from White Rock Lake and moved to the above mentioned areas!

Worst part - all three of these used to be some of the nicest, prettiest places to play softball and/or enjoy an afternoon after visiting some of the downtown Dallas attractions. White Rock Lake is back to normal; sadly, Reverchon and Oak Lawn are not advisable destinations at ANYTIME!!

In all seriousness, I bet they will rope off 100 acres around the fence in Wyoming where Matthew Shepard was found tied to and near death. I see where the two kids that killed him are doing life - they should have been executed.

Stonewall Tavern is long gone. But we do have plenty of weeds and bushes scattered around town.

Of course, Marie’s Crisis Piano Bar is still in existence. Even I still go there!
