Fox Debate Main Stage: Three Insurgent and Three Establishment Candidates
Breitbart ^ | 1/1/02016 | Alex Swoyer

GOP frontrunner Donald Trump, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) 97%, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL)79%, Dr. Ben Carson, Gov. Chris Christie and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush are most likely the six GOP presidential candidates that will appear on the main debate stage at the Fox Business GOP primary debate in South Carolina this Thursday, according to Politico.

After the recent NBC News Wall Street Journal/Marist poll, Politico calculated the candidates not likely to make the debate stage this time around are: Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) 93%, Ohio Gov. John Kasich, Carly Florina, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum.

Fox Business hasn't yet made its official announcement about which candidates have or have not made the main stage. In order to make the primetime debate stage, candidates had to place in the top six nationally out of an average of five recent polls or in the top five in Iowa and New Hampshire.

The NBC News Wall Street Journal/Marist poll had Trump remaining far ahead of the GOP field in New Hampshire with 30 percent, while Cruz took the lead in Iowa by four points with 28 percent.

Why Bush? His poll numbers have flat-lined.

John Kasich
Carly Florina [sic]
Mike Huckabee
and Rick Santorum should bow out after this debate, IMHO.

I read that Bush had high enough poll numbers in New Hampshire to make the main stage. UGH!

Heavens, YES, they should have already ‘bowed out’. Huck says if he doesn’t make the top three in Iowa, he’s out. Let’s keep our fingers crossed.

I think that six is good. My most important consideration is that kasich NOT be there.

Why Bush? His poll numbers have flat-lined.

If Bush's numbers were below, say, Fiorina's, then a FAX would have gone out to Fox from the GOPe and their criteria would have instead been "In order to make the primetime debate stage, candidates had to place in the top six seven nationally out of an average of five recent polls or in the top five six in Iowa and New Hampshire."

In other words, whatever it takes to get their boy tippy-toes onto the stage.

It hasn’t budged much, and the number of votes has gone up tenfold.

Agreed. Besides, Jeb will be distracted by mental images of Trump in a bath robe.

I agree. A while ago I saw discussions here that Megyn Kelly, Chris Wallace and Brett were going to be the moderators. I guess that was a premature guess. N. Cavuto seems to me a great improvement.

Jeb has millions of dollars yet to spend on TV ads. No way Fox would drop him now.
