Giza Pyramid mystery chamber may hold Pharaoh’s 'meteorite throne'

A huge void discovered inside the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt late last year may hold an iron throne carved from meteorites, according to new analysis of ancient religious texts.

Giulio Magli, Director of the Department of Mathematics and Professor of Archaeoastronomy at the Politecnico di Milano, studied the Pyramid Texts, religious writings carved into pyramid walls around 2400 BC. Based on his studies, Magli proposes that it’s possible the throne of Pharaoh Khufu – or ‘Cheops’ – lies inside the chamber.

================================================================================================================================

“Of course it would not be melted iron but meteoritic iron, that is, fallen from the sky in the form of iron meteorites and again cited in the Texts,” Magli says in his paper.

Explaining the structure of the pyramid, Magli states that before arriving at the funerary chamber there is a gallery. “The newly discovered room is over this gallery, but does not have a practical function of ‘relieving weight’ from it, because the roof of the gallery itself was already built with a corbelled technique for this very reason," he explains in a statement.

So what was this room used for? Magli offers a possible interpretation that falls in line with existing knowledge on Egyptian funerary religion as documented in the Pyramid texts: “In these texts it is said that the pharaoh,before reaching the stars of the north, will have to pass the ‘gates of the sky’ and sit on his ‘throne of iron.’”

============================================================================================================================

Within the Pyramid there are four narrow shafts which Magli suggests represent said ‘gates of the sky’, adding: “The north one could well lead into the newly discovered room, and may contain an object needed by Cheops after crossing the doors – the ‘iron throne.’”

According to the textual analysis, Cheops’ throne may be similar to that of his mother, Queen Hetepheres, but instead of gold it would be coated with meteoritic iron sheets.

It is believed ancient Egypt attributed great value to meteoritic iron for the production of ornamental or ceremonial objects. In 2016 it was confirmed that King Tut’s dagger originated from a meteorite. Meteoric iron is clearly indicated by its high nickel content.

Magli admits that his proposal is still just a theory, but says it’s one worth further exploration, suggesting a fresh investigation of the pyramid’s north shaft to determine if it does indeed lead into the newly-discovered chamber.

The green glass is the result of an ancient meteor or comet air burst strike - no crater.

We have no way to take them apart let alone rebuild them. 100 ton stones cannot be easily lifted by modern cranes - one or two perhaps but not by the hundreds, by the thousands. Certainly, you would need to build a crane taller that the Great Pyramid before you could even think of it. Ramps will not work. And it would take decades to disassemble, even if it were possible, and more decades to reassemble.

The so-called sarcophagus in the ‘Kings Chamber’ was placed before the Pyramid was finished as it is too large to fit in the existing passage pays. Further, when the pyramid was first opened in the 7th century to loot it - the ‘thieves entrance’ - nothing was found anywhere inside, there never was a lid. And the box is not gigantic but about 6 feet long and 3 wide and 4 feet high or so.

Lidded gigantic sarcophagi are found elsewhere by the dozen - thought to be burial sarcophagi of sacrificial bulls - but no bones or any other remains have ever been found. There are also similar sized sarcophagi in the Well of Osiris, but again empty.

The Great Pyramid was open to tourists during Roman times, and probably for some while before that. The Byzantines sealed it back up. After the muzzie invasion, it was only a matter of time before the caliph decided to try to crack it open and look for loot. They cut the robber's hole that used as the tourist entrance today, and probably the robber's hole that leads from the descending passage to the Grand Gallery.

It's not unlikely that the caliph's thugs entered the "Queen's chamber" (which probably had burial goods and/or the canopic jars) and the burial chamber, and removed the mummy at that time, and the lid was possiblly just smashed into fragments in the process -- then the fragments were removed by visitors as souvenirs.

See the photos and text here -- the granite block the caliph's thugs pushed into the chamber upon their entry, which used to set on the floor near the foot of the sarcophagus, is now missing, presumably removed by Egyptian authorities.

I still think it’s the chamber where all the sand used for the sliding blocks resided before being triggered for closure - the chutes were for routing it where it needed to flow.

Whatever it is, I doubt there is any ‘treasure’ there.

It may be just a void, like a space between layers of stone that was not necessary to fill......................

Of course, since pyramid is not a tomb, the throne theory is fake news

Ok, try this.

The pyramid interior is a temperature and pressure constant environment and the stone receptacle is the standard measure. The standard measure is used to certify volumes for trade in grain and other volumetric commodities needing a standard.

The pyramids at Giza have multi functions including indicating the solstice. indicating the true north south bearings, and permanent geodesic markers for surveys plus lots more.

The Giza pyramids are commercial in nature rather than religious

Yes, or a silica meteorite with an iron core.
Don’t ask me how.
Suppose the pharaoh recieved word of a massive fireball
in the sky, sent out a party and they returned with glass
and enough iron to make a throne. Just right for someone
going to the afterlife with the sky gods.

Back in those days, meteorites were a primary source of iron. Can’t imagine they would bury so much of it.
