You must not have any enjoyment.

interesting. I generally have good impulse control as it relates to food. The exception being Mrs. Mad’s zucchini bread which is a Paula Dean recipe. That stuff is like crack to me.

Well, I recently read an article about recent Russian immigrants. One thing about America that surprised them was how sweet the white bread was. It was like eating cake, one of them said.

Sprinkle a few grasshoppers on it. That’ll fix it.

I always hated white bread. Even as a kid when that’s mostly all that was on the shelves. It tasted like puffy cardboard to me.

Yeah, it’s satire, the author is just too young to know it is satire.

I used to take Wonder Bread, rip off the crust and then compress the white bread into a rubber-like ball. Then ate maybe 10 balls. lol

Yes...when my mother over-boiled broccoli, cauliflower, peas, and brussels sprouts until they were mush, that’s the way they were supposed to be cooked...and you’re gonna like it!

Paging Dr. John Harvey Kellogg

"Cereal would create fortunes and create multinational companies that we still know today. But Dr. John Harvey Kellogg K +0%, the inventor of corn flakes, did not care about profits. For him, cereal was not just a health food because it would improve Americans digestion. He believed a diet centered on bland foods like cereal would lead Americans away from sin. One very specific sin: masturbation."

The surprising reason why Dr. John Harvey Kellogg invented cereal

Here's wishing BenLurkin well in his struggle.

Buy whole foods and cook at home.

Nothing else.

I know they’ve blown Kellogg’s idea to Heck and back.

All the sugar that gets added probably results in a vast increase in the activity that Kellogg was trying to stop.

We have removed sugar from our diet and will occasionally eat something with sugar. Regular “healthy whole wheat” bread is way too sweet for us now and difficult to eat. I used to make 4 slices of toast with it and slather it with butter and jam.

Clearly, the manufacturers add sugar to enhance the flavor.

Read somewhere that anything labeled “low fat” has sugar added to it to compensate for the loss of flavor because the fat is removed. Consumers expect that “low fat” is healthy when it probably isn’t because they are consuming bunch of sugar.

I want to start making my own “Keto” Bread.

I don’t trust the “Keto” Breads they sell in the store.
