In recent days, satellite maps have displayed alarming levels of SO2 mass around Wuhan — the Chinese city suspected to be the origin of the deadly virus. Furthermore, high levels of SO2 were also found over the city of Chongqing which is also under quarantine.
Large amounts of sulfur dioxide are released when bodies are cremated or when medical waste is incinerated, scientists say. But a Twitter user raised an alarm after finding the elevated levels of the compound on a weather app, suggesting that it could be the result of dead bodies being burned on the outskirts of the city.
The Chinese government has ordered bodies of coronavirus victims to be cremated immediately upon death. They have also decreed that funerals must be low profile in order to prevent large public gatherings.
Earlier this month, China's National Health Commission advised that the bodies should be "cremated close by and immediately."
A screenshot from a live map by Czech-based weather service Windy shows SO2 levels in Wuhan at a staggering 1,350 micrograms per cubic meter (µg/m3) over the weekend. To put things in perspective, a dosage of 500 µg/m3 of SO2 should not be exceeded for more than 10 minutes, as per the World Health Organization (WHO). A 15-minute exposure to 533 µg/m3 sulfur dioxide is considered to be 'high' by the UK government.

Sounds a little nutty. Hubei province has over 50,000,000 people. That’s a couple thousand people dying per day normally. Unless I’m wrong, cremation is the norm in China, isn’t it?
I read this morning that China is no longer officially counting patents who test positive but are asymptomatic. I’m not sure if this will create a Typhoid Mary scenario, or if they can’t spread it in this state.

My feeling (hopefully wrong) is that, they are also ending the lives of those who now have fevers, and who are being picked up (presumably to take to hospitals for care... but who would ever know?).

Why would they do that, just isolate the city and drop off food and let it run it’s course? Why would they kill people who get sick, honestly, at this point they are just making things worse I think.

From what I can tell, CCN is based in Norway, but isn’t Norwegian. That screams, “FAKE NEWS SITE!”
Further, the supposed whistleblower is a fugitive in exile, meaning he’s hardly a “whistleblower.” The pattern of deaths in Wuhan is enigmatic, and the Chinese gov’t was wierdly apologetic, so I don’t doubt we’re seeing some sort of misinformation... but this just doesn’t seem right.
My bet is that all these hundreds of thousands of quarrantine cases are suspected coronavirus cases.
For those who won’t read the article:
There are 49 creamatories in Wuhan.
Typically one with 24 ovens runs all ovens 4 hours per day, 5 days per week, which is 120 cremations per day.
Multiple reports confirm all crematories are running 24 hours a day. Let’s say that is 5 cremations per day per oven (20 hours out of 24).
We have no way of knowing the number of ovens per facility, but let’s be conservative and use 10, less than half of the number of ovens in the example quoted.
49 facilites * 10 ovens per facility * 5 cremations per day per oven = 2450 cremations per day.
How many days has this been going on? Let’s say 20 days.
20 days * 2450 cremations per day = 49,000 cremations.
Without defending any of these assumptions is is obvious that the numbers the CCP is putting out and the unofficial rumors about crematories running around the clock are in conflict.
Many more bodies are being cremated if the unofficial reports and rumors have any credibility. The sulfur dioxide levels only add confirmation.
