My parents have passed, but if they were in an infected nursing home/retirement community I would want to get him out.
And don't take your cell phones; they are tracking them.
I provide 24/7 care die my father in law along with my husbands help. Yes it would be much easier and more convenient to have him in a nursing home it it can be done at home.
this isn’t your business. Nobody owes you an explanation for how they interact with their family!
Not all families are Hallmark card material.
Yes the other party did not say it nicely. However where there is a will there is a way. When my father i. law got out of ICU we moved him into our house. I slept on a couch outside his door with a baby monitor in his room and was instantly there any time he moved. I did this while working full time and shared duties with my husband who was also working full time. And we had a 6 year old. It depends on your priorities. Most people in nursing homes could be cared for by relatives
Sure.
Its not a prison. As long as you have the legal authority to do so for a committed person.
But if you are willing to care for them now...why are they in a nursing home to start with?
More power to you...we are lucky my MIL put herself in elder care and can afford it...she doesn’t like family”
PS...we keep in touch with her and provide for other needs and wants...and my husband was least favorite of hers. His sister and her 2 daughters do nothing...since they are now not able to bleed $$$ from her any longer.
You have no clue.
We obviously need some Star Trek Transporters.
Yes. Wife runs 37 facilities. Expert. You can ALWAYS remove a parent. Facility has no say.
well my parents have passed. my daughter works in a retirement community. she says they are all locked in there rooms and the cases in the community are now at ten with one death. I would think a lot of kids right now would have a lot more free time on their hands if they aren’t working to care for the parent or parents instead of letting them take their chances in a retirement community.
I would think it might depend on WHERE they are and what “ORDERS” there are in that location. Allegedly many of us are under martial law, but I’ve yet to actually hear any teeth to these “strict orders” to “stay at home” and “no visitors”.
Outside of draconian martial law brought on by this hysteria, I don’t know why they couldn’t leave.
